Amazing video.

Also amazing watching the lap from in the GT2, at how little noise it makes.

Haven't seen those videos in a while, they're cracking! thumbup
Assuming the cars were being pedalled at a similar level (it looks like it in general) it just shows how little on-paper figures tell you about real-world (or racetrack) performance.
Oh and I would so love a Seven, my dad's old one had just over half the power of that R500 and that was a damned quick car! eek

Best ring video around up with the famous Yellow bird one.
Wish i could drive my GT2 like that!!
It was only going to be a matter of time before the yellowbird vid came into it! smile

Still too scared to do the ring in a 911. The 944 is fine for the first hundred laps I reckon.

Wow that r500 is a twitchy beast, huge respect to the driver. Went on the carlimits day in the wet and the guys who had them could barely keep them the straight on the straight.
The main difference could be that the R500 does not have any driver aids, other than perhaps a limited slip diff. Earlier Porsches which did not have driver aids, were very similar to the r500 in their propensity for firing their drivers at the scenery. On this basis the skill level of the r500 driver could be regarded as being exceptional.

The R500 is like wearing an extra limb though and you can feel so much more than in the Porsche, I would guess having never driven one but was taken around Folembray track in one on the limit. I know we were in the limit because he got black flagged for driving too quick.
It's the only time I've ever been scared in a car. eek

Not driven a R500 but have driven an R300 and it's so predictable. Amazing car.

However, having owned a couple of 400+ bhp/tonne Caterhams I would have to say it's just wrong to have an R500 with a full screen. It would have performed significantly better without it.

Few people can say they can literally take an R500 by the scruff of the neck and properly wring it, let alone around the 'ring. That man is a deity.

Sorry but I can't get excited about a video of a Porsche driver in his rear view mirror no matter how good the driving is!

Christ, that boy in the Caterham can drive!!
(GT2 pilot pretty handy too)

And if there's any doubt about how bumpy the ring is (it was the most surprising thing I found when I first went there), just see how much suspension travel the Caterham is using!

Good camera mount in the 996. Seems to maintain a level position despite the car movement.
