Best estate car?

I bought this yesterday. It's the best estate for me at the moment. I'd have liked a 535d but running costs are significantly more.
Coming from a 2002 volvo v70 d5. Great in it's own way but very different.

Which model did you buy in the end? also hide the number plate.
That is quite nice, I am looking for a sub 160g/km car. At the moment the 3 series is excluded as it is smaller (excluding the boot) than my ATR.
I hadn't considered a 5 series.
I have been looking at 08 plate 7th Gen Honda Accord CTDI cars for example you can get a good spec EX for £8k.

Or a 59 plate 8th Gen Honda Accord DCTI Type-S this one is also of interest.

At the moment I am little cautious about Derv cars and the DPF failures, injectors and turbo costs etc etc.
You can also get a good 60k miles Merc C220 for 12-15k. Plenty of options.

Ive just bought this:
My little boy is now one, needed a big barge for days out etc. I was waiting for an A6 to come up but didnt find one with the right spec and mileage. This came up for decent money, its got a massive boot and roof bars so i can load it right up. I didnt want a diesel so i went for the 2L turbo which is surprisingly economical. I do think the Audi would of been a lot better to drive, couldnt wait any longer though.

9-5 saabs are fairly obscene value, but they aren't that good handling cars and the bigger turbo cars have some torque steer. My old man had a huge number of these cars and they are great cars for shipping the family about. Can be well equipped and even the 260bhp cars will do 30+mpg on a run.
My neighbour just bought a 2.0turbo with 70k on the clock for 1750, it's immaculate.
I have a b7 a4 and it's a nice car to drive but it's not that big in the back which I why it's going. That and the awful ride from the sline suspension. Lovely dash though, and the seats are great.
The legacy is the car that always come up in this type of search for a reason. Big, well equipped, but a bit thirsty and the servicing schedule means that they can be expensive to run from what I recall when I looked at them. Wish I'd bought one instead of the a4 to be honest.
The passat is fairly dull but huge, and well built with good choice of spec and engines though most will be 2.0 tdi. Would be an easy proposition to own though. I was impressed by the one I drove recently.

Being the LCi that 525d is very effective. Gearbox is very quick.I bought this yesterday. It's the best estate for me at the moment. I'd have liked a 535d but running costs are significantly more.

It's a manual. So thanks for the compliment :-) A friend had one a few years back.
Don't pick it up for our few days. Looking forward to getting back in a good handling rwd car again. Fingers crossed it doesn't get nicked!
Depending on the context though, any one of the cars mentioned can be the best. Depends on your circumstances.
With money For object, for me it would be a new BMW m5 touring.

Surely the diesel Legacy is fairly economical?Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
