Makes sense when they're only making 101 V12V Roadsters (until they find out it's popular and make as many as they can sell).

I wonder if they will do a V12V Zagato roadster, similar to the DB-AR1 or Vanquish volante Zagato scratchchin

I think all of these are worse than the originals they were based on.

Not sure what the plans are beyond the initial doing, but they are currently working on a Cygnet with the engine from the V8 Vantage. Don't know what the plans for it are though.
Now that might be more interesting laugh

I would assume that part of the scale back is directly attributable to the fact that it isnt as aesthetically pleasing as a standard V12V and the launch of the new Vanquish. In saying that, however, the Zagato may have slightly better residuals than either of them if you compare to other AM/Zagato collaborations.
The DB7 Zagato was a shocker for residuals when it first came out...."sold out" very quickly but they were very quickly worth £50k less than their £170k list. That said they have held up well since.

Reducing production to 101 cars is about money that's all....whether it's because it take too much to make or they can't sell them is another question. I suspect it's the latter as givent the price premium there's plenty of money in them.

Wasn't a fan of it when it was first shown, but now I quite like it, rear end is a bit marmite though.

It's just to expensive for what it is, if they had thrown in some major engine work under the hood, like 7 litres & 600hp, it might not look so overpriced

+1
I'd take a stock DB7 or a stock V12V over these creations, to be honest none of Zagato's modern creations do it for me.

I wouldn't get one of these, but my "One day, Rodney..." garage definitely includes a DB7 Zagato. In the metal, it looks like the demon offspring of an AM and an alligator. And prices have been static at £100k for, oh, ages.

At least it's something a bit different to the rest of the model range that all look the same, pretty much bored of looking at those now.

Quite quite the shark-ish rear end, the big gob on the front isn't pretty but has a bit of presence.

I think it looks spot on for a modern Aston, it is what the other cars will have looked like in the designers eyes before they were very watered down.
The est of the range can be the elegant looking ones, they need a radical looking car, and they need to build a newly developed car too, something to take the market by storm, the db9 is dated and was never perfect underneath that perfect bodyshell. The vantage was cool, but not a ferrari or porsche beater. IMO that is.

And i'm glad none of you like it, it just means it's gonna be cheaper when I can afford to buy one laugh

Considering they have reduced the number from 150 as they are not selling, it's pretty unlikely that they will increase it again.

It's simply far too expensive.

Love it.
Why is it that as soon as we see true sport car styling and anything other than boring flat panels ON A SPORT CAR the "ugly" card is frantically waved from the tree tops? (Gumpert??)
This is by far the best looking Aston for a long time because there is something new to look at and interesting cues to the past instead of the usual monotony of the "white goods styling school".
This car looks much better in the flesh too which is more than welcome in such a dull car world stuffed to bursting with boring and bland flat panel cars.
