£11.5k? I'm in the wrong business....

However, if anyone's looking, I know someone who could be persuaded to part with a taxed & tested early 4-door 3.9 Vogue SE, almost certainly for a 3-figure sum, but whilst largely unmolested, it is sheddier than a very sheddy 6x4 garden building! Been well looked-after mechanically though.

'Ranger Rover' WTF? Is this a rare Rickman built self build kit that I'd never heard of?

Edited to spell heard properly- ironic when I was being a spelling Nazi, huh?

I used our Masai red and silver (classy) '76 three door when I passed my test in 1987. It made for "different" boy racer action when all my mates were in Minis and Mk1 or Mk2 Escorts. The V8 through the stainless single box system sounded a lot more meaningful than a 1.3 Kent though a Peco.

I actually own a V8 one of these. Last ran 4 years ago, currently ageing in a friends field. Perhaps I should do something with it.

Assume he means Graeme Hunt in Kensington. Brazen (to say the least) pricing but he seems to shift them ...

I've been trying to persuade my lovely wife that we need one for years now. She's not budging, especially now the prices are rocketing.

Two stand out features - the yard of carpet on the gear lever, and that unmistakeable shimmy they do going round corners. Nothing else corners the same way.
I'm not sure that "corners" is what early RRs do. In the couple I drove it was more a case of "steer a mean course" and hope you don't hit anything.

And 135 bhp ..... is that the most modest output from any V8? (stands back and waits for the deluge of suggestions)

LiquidKnight, have you ever sat in an Evoque or just looked at the shape as one goes by? Or maybe you are very very tall?

Years ago my old man had a unit on a farm. One of the guys there had a six wheeled three door. Proper old nail of a workhorse, full of junk, the V8 swapped for a diesel. Probably be worth a fortune now.

But luckily Sir, we have another one (classic car or gullible brainless mug?) due to arrive in the showroom next week.

Had a 1991 4 door 3.9 and i can confirm they do handle very well with the suspension in good condition, was entirely possible to get the back to swing round under control on a wet corner. brilliant cars (14mpg was at times painful but then again it did get driven fairly hard at times)! as for the power output, the engine is 40 years old in that state of tune and on carbs so couldn't really be expected to be to powerful...
