I'd quite like to buy one, drive it to the Ferrari Owners Club concours and park it between some genuine ones.

All that effort could have gone into making a properly lovely 406 replica wink

They've even done an ok job on the interior (barring the manual box). The money involved is mental though, 26k? Insane.

From the ride height you would think so, yet :

"Lowering springs have also been added to give the car the correct ride height." confused

Note the use of the word added. The poor bloke clearly wasn't aware that they were replacements for the originals.

Disappointingly, he appears to have stopped short of mounting a smoke machine and speakers to the rear wheel wells for some stylish fake wheelspin action.

I normally defend replicas because some people just want the looks and if you can create something that looks as good, fools 90% of people (lets face it only people that are into cars would know the difference - my mum certainly wouldn't know a real 430 from a replica (even a bad replica at that)) and you can use every day without the massive expense of running a real one.

The only thing I don't understand is badging it as a Ferrari when it isn't one. I could swap the engine in my car for the GT500 lump, put the GT500 body kit and interior on it, but could I really badge it as a Shelby GT500 - no I couldn't because it isn't one and without a shelby VIN number it never will be.

However, that thing is hideous and should be burned, put back to stock or done properly.

So basically its priced against a decent (and real) Ferrari 348?

I actually like kit cars but these people really are morons.
