I was considering writing a letter to Lotus and thanking them for bringing the NSX back.
Evora: Same weight and hp, perhaps even the same size (didn't check).

Compared to a 1991 NSX, the Evora is - 45mm longer wheelbase, 63mm shorter, 38mm wider, 53mm higher, same weight (1991 NSX and 2 seater Evora).
NSX has a 3.0 V6, 270bhp, Evora has a 3.5 V6, 276bhp.
If any of this is wrong, blame Wikipedia, not me
Back to talking about the Toyobaru now

Not too mention if you head over to the other side of the Atlantic drag racing is a huge pass time.
To be fair, you don't half talk some st. Those into 'drag racing' are not this car's target market, so why even mention it? Just seen this pop up on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=4904319476...

Ultimately I love the GT86 it's everything and much more than the Celica of the 90's -> 10's.
I just don't need 2 seats in the back.
Also I am tight, i'm willing to wait and not spend money on a new car. Cars are toys and I alway had a £10k rule because you can buy amazing stuff for that amount 2nd hand, 911's, Loti, Supras with 1000bhp, the cars I dreamt of as a kid. Only time I may buy a new car is post retirement when I figure I may as well spend my cash. Maybe there are loads of people like me and that's why Astons, Bentleys et al are all over the place in any affluent area driven by the older chaps.
Come on guys buy them so I can in 5 years with a turbo or charger, all the relevant mods and thrash it round a track :-)
I guess it's the petrol heads who have a car allowance via work who will buy them - opt out of the company scheme and put the money where they'd enjoy it - a write off with out the Mrs complaining.

1. I have no need for rear seats. I ignore them. I just don't need 2 seats in the back.

2. I'm not just tight, I'm poor too. I can't 'afford' one, but I can muster enough to 'buy' on the never-never; you only live once.
3. Why wait five years? They'll be under 10k in three.
4. Car allowance? Wozzat?!
Get thyself to dealer and sign away your life.
If not the 86, get pork, fezza, bimmer, NSX, whatever... Enjoy!

1. No need for rear seats - so my thought is why cart the weight about? I've got a mk3 MR2 with a 2ZZGE engine swap, cars about 950kg and 190bhp, so what ~250kg lighter than the 86 and only 10 high revving normally aspirated bhp off, it's be a performance downgrade due to the weight difference and the MR2 is a really rather good handler, 5 star EVO rated car.2. 2. I bought my Hornet on the never never as it was zero % so made sense, I just can't face spending >£20K in one go however its done. To me that represents my Fireblade, Hornet & my MR2 in one package, thought makes me shudder - just can't bring myself to do it.
3. I may if they drop that quickly but I think i'd want a supercharger on it which I'd be unlikely to find so would have to pay for so still doubtful, even more so as I'd want a TRD braked, forged wheeled example.
4. The £10k bracket I think about a lot at present, in a single car it'd be a Boxster or an Elise. Enjoying my MR2 plenty at the moment though
You've put a few tanks of fuel in the '86 so far, any points you think need improving on it after living with it for a bit?
Genuinely, nothing.
I've popped on a set of winter tyres, probably unnecessary so far this year.
After the TVR it has way less power/torque but is MUCH more fun.
After the 350Z it has less power/torque/weight but is cheaper to run and MUCH more fun.
I have no experience of either forced induction or proper super cars, but this does all I want or need, in spades. I'm fifty and have owned and had many company cars, but this is a GREAT car. Make no mistake and please don't take this lightly - I mean it.
It's not a German über-cruiser nor perfect Porsche. It's not a poor man's pretend Aston or balanced Lotus.
A great every day jap coupe that is an adequate jack of all trades it most certainly is.
