I did not even really notice that little detail - what I like (and the reviews agree) is the amount of glass and great visibility on all models. smile

My Polo has a sticking seatbelt, I'm going to use it as an excuse to take it in and ask to test drive an UP! hehe

I love the customisation options that you get with the VW version:

All colours of interior appear to be free, aside from the faux leather.

Has to be the Up! for me, really funky looking on the road.

I think you are right. I want one now, and can PupkinSteve report back with his findings please as more reviews and knowledge, the better. Thanks.

just had a look at the citigo se and up white

im 6 ft and could only just get in behind me wouldnt want to be in there for long mind. seats are very comfy not much support though. steering wheel in citigo is a better than the up as its thicker BUT the up wheel looks a bit nicer the up also looks a bit nicer with the colour dash. i found i could get comfy easily but i don't like the tilt to get in the back as it doesn't just go back to where it was or at least i couldn't get it to !
also the up seems to have a better quality boot seems to have an adjustable floor ?

overall i liked the up slightly more in the flesh.

off to test one tomorrow i think. looking to replace a 04 plate 1.2 micra.
i really dont see the up depreciating that badly either

Did you lower the seat height? I'm 6'6" and was ok in it.

yep lowered it right down i fitted in fine in drivers seat not an issue but when i climbed in the back with the seat where i had it my feet were pinned in and i hand to have my knees either side of the seat it wasn't too bad but i wouldn't want to go too far but to be honest it had about as much room as our giulietta does when im sat in drivers seat ! in fact actually more. its not really an issue we wouldnt ever use the back seats i dont think

The Mii is boring, the Citigo is alright, but it's all in the detail. The Up! is far nicer, the interior options, the lights, front and especially back etc... Someone up the hill has bought a bargain basement Citigo, in white, smart enough, but seems an odd choice given it replaces a much bigger car and supplements their even weirder Transit Torneo thing.

Cool. If it isnt a personal question, did you use one of the deals provided or by your local VW dealership? Also, is it on the new '62' plates due in September?!

Enjoy! thumbup

Ah ok, my fault for misreading/watching tv at same time. I thought you were talking about not fitting in the front. I had a Fabia and with me in the front it was basically a 3 seater, with the exception of one auntie who is on the smaller side and could get behind me if I brought my seat forward a bit hehe

Sorry to add to the inquisition, but what sort of lead time were you quoted? Had a look at one at the VW garage yesterday and was impressed although there doesn't seem to be much in the way of discount given the demand (even the demonstrators are very close to list!)

Lings have a 24 month lease (3 x 24) 20k pa for £148pcm which seems pretty cheap for a base model although I do like them in black which is another £500 on list.

I've been lurking on the UP! owners forum for a while, and I'm pleasantly surprised that there is no sign of the 'dub' scene yet. Looks like a very good forum for info, you should check it out.

Seat Mii is the best!

Biased view here, I got one on lease in Yellow in bog basic spec. To be honest, it is a lot better than I expected it to be. It's cheap, honest and trouble-free motoring. On reflection, I think the Citigo is the better looking one out of them all, while the UP is the worst. Not saying the UP is a bad looking car though, still quite funky.

The Maps and More gadget is also great.

I hate to say it, but I have been through pretty much all the satnav units out there (an expensive approach, but there you go), and the Navman units on which it is based are the best.

They have the best routing and the best interface. The only downside is it's not easy to upload custom POIs (such as gpsworld's speed camera database, for example) onto them. I keep an old tomtom face down in the glovebox for that. All I need are the audio warnings...

The massively deep boot is a hang over from the fact that they were all meant to be rear engined. I would be driving one now if they'd stuck with the early mules...

Be careful, there was someone on there talking about G60ies a week or so back...

Went to my local vw dealer and did it through them, I knowsomeome who works there though so that's part of that reason.
Yeah it will be a 62 plate as well one of the very first! smile

Luckily the spec I wanted is already being made so 3 weeks to wait another wise it would be 3months I think. The base models are very basic (manual windows!) but fr the price you can't go wrong, but what from what I understand the margin on them is so small there really is very little room for discount.

£4000 for 2 years use of a £7500 car is not cheap....

I think I'll stick with my 6-year-old decent spec Corsa, although I've looked with intrigue. As far as I can tell, these are better in no quantifiable way.
