Folks,
I'm in a real dilemma, yesterday evening a racing pigeon (I could tell it was a racing pigeon as it was wearing a tiny pair of goggles), flew into the bonnet of my car leaving a tiny goggle shaped dent.
It was stunned for a second but then flew off, before I could read the ring on it's leg.
There's absolutely no way that it was my fault, and I refuse point blank to accept that sometimes these things just happen, so the question is who do I get to pay for the damage as I am defiantly unwilling to put my hand in my pocket?
Can anyone help me find the number of the British Racing Pigeon Association (I would look on the Internet, but I'm chronically lazy), as I intend to ask them to compensate me for the damage to my car and also for the time it's taken to type this.

You cant do that! What if a branch fell off a tree and dented your roof what would you do? Oh hang on....

Def contact the racing association. Most racers use full face helmets these days so it won't take long to find out the ones still only wearing goggles.
They'll organise an ID parade, you can find your bird and then it will be a simple matter for his insurance.
HTH.

Insurance is to cover for negligence. Who was negligent in your case?
Nobody, therefore it is your own insurance you need to claim from.

The OP should think himself lucky Dick Dastardly didn't land on his bonnet shortly afterwards.

Nobody, therefore it is your own insurance you need to claim from. I think the fact that the bird wasn't wearing full safety gear shows a negligent streak. Plus it was obviously low flying in an urban situation. Just not on AIMHO
