You had a go in PF's then?
No, we had one in as a press car for a few days. Lovely thing. Really lovely. I totally get what all the fuss is about now.
The D5 or Alpina's in general?

Both really. Specifically though the elevation of experience over and above the BMW product. The way it handles by comparison, quality of interior environment. Just felt like the premium over what is already an excellent car is worth every penny.

I'd say a D5 Touring is a serious contender for 'Best car in the world' status.

Well, at least until the L405 Range Rover launches...

13 pages of staggering self-delusion.

Then, finally, a post with some actual truth. How refreshing and admirable.

Panamera 'won' due to its stunning interior and, because I'm shallow, its presence and badge appeal.

Nice selective edit there. Although I believe that what he actually said was:

Nice that you chose to remove the bit about where it outperforms rivals in the way it handles and that the OP likes the looks, eh?

You just aren't prepared to concede that a car built outside of the UK could have merit, are you?

Ha ha ! Well done. I think the Internet phrase for the Pits as used by the teens in the house , is "owned".

Not sure you're allowed to do that Stuart. I thought making up quotes was very frowned upon here?

Besides you're just being evasive.

Handling and steering might well be OK for a bloated german tank but that's not why people are buying them as you well know.
Looks like we're back to self delusion again already...

14 pages on the Panamera Diesel!

It's a monty python sketch.

That's quite enough for me.

Have a great day everyone.

So tell me why do I keep seeing so many of them on the roads over here and why I saw plenty of them in France too?

Are you seriously saying that the Panamera is being bought new exclusively by the kind of person who chooses a car on brand image alone? I'm pretty sure that most people who can afford to spend £60-120k on a car aren't as insecure as you might imagine (or is this the reason that you need to have an Aston alongside your other cars instead of a less obvious Noble or Marcos?), why not just accept that in the world people have different tastes and just because you're unable to put down a blind prejudice about where a car comes from don't assume that those who don't share your blinkered view of the world are instantly wrong.

It would be amusing if you'd joined recently to troll threads like this one and where 18, but from your profile you seem to be a successful grown adult who has experienced a broad selection of cars and it seems pathetic that you can't leave this one in the box marked 'not for me but I can understand why others would buy it'.
