My favourite modern Ferrari....yes it's big but it's just looks so bloody good and that epic engine. Thinks it's looks will age really well.
I know in the video Chris said they only made maual's in LHD.....I think that a manual would be a seriously collectable car in the future but in such a big car it might be a real issue on UK roads?

Who was it was saying Chris' driving is always sideways and not that fast....?
Great stuff as ever. Now get yourself over to the XJ220s thread where you have been invited to do a back to back with one of the best garages on PH!

Chris, by looking at your car (especially in that colour) I find myself reflecting on the fact that the previous model Ferrari always seem to be better looking than the current one.
Case in point being the new berlinetta, which may as well be faster than the speed of light, but to me looks like an awful grinning troll.
The 599 has aged very well. Good choice.

Fantastic write up. Great video. Superb sound from the high revving NA V12 I love the Front engined RWD V12 Fezzas such as 550M; 575M I think they look gd great proportions really macho cars and the 599
I love the way u drift it. I wanted to ask given it is Front engines RWD is it similar skill to drifting a M3 ? How does it compare to drifting a M3 or a 911?
The engine sounds the beans. Costs an absolute packet to run though twice as much as to fill a M3 and a shorter range and servicing will be expensive I dunno what Fezzas reliability are like ?
I have to disagree the best value 'supercar' is the E46 M3 or E60 M5 if that counts on the classifieds or otherwise a 996 Turbo!!!!
Enjoyed ur article and video and I enjoyed u on cars is technology making it bette or worse and when u talked about Fezzas, Porkers, Beemas and M3s :-)

Think I'd prefer a V12V Aston. A lesser car maybe , but I think I'd connect more to it. Ah, sorry. As mentioned its mainly the A4059 and A4069.

It's the sort of car that to me seems to be asking for a tie, or possibly a cravat, from its driver. Constant issue for me. I always look like I'm parking someone else's car. Hey-ho.

Find the Aston comparison v.interesting. As mentioned before, this process began with a Vanquish S - to my eyes one of the best looking cars ever. Drove one same day as a 599 and, even making allowances for the AM's 'Works manual 'box and sheer charm, it just doesn't come close dynamically.
Driven V12 Vantage lots. Endearing but less than the sum of its parts - Kahn design wheels horrid (one clever PHer had them changed, no?) Just not a car I want to own.

Agree the wheels on the V12 Vantage are horrid, all advertisements I've seen from Kahn are horrid. Just thought of something, you used to have a 996 GT2, what did you think about it? I didn't read your articles back then. They are relatively cheap now.

Needs some geometry tweaks to get rid of understeer. And the best rubber available. Most have been through a hedge.

Great car, great video, as ever. One spot: why does your Rolex keep making the odd appearance? One minute it's on your wrist, the next it's gone....

Thank you. A friend had two when i just got my license and those were the first cars I went very fast in. Am aware most have been in some kind of accident. Just think they are very intereesting at the moment. I remember they were a real adrenalin rush.

I see in the video that you were talking about resale, and it maybe a bit early as you have only just got this Ferrari but what would you like to replace it with, or rather what is the next car that you want to own seeing as Aston Martins do not hit the mark?!

Great video, nice to see the car being driven at speed on real roads. After driving cars with this level of performance, is it difficult to review something like an M3 / 1M (which most of us would love) and not find it dull & slow?
