Can't she walk at all?

It's what thousands of other people with hip replacements do every day.

Always someone to blame for life's little disappointments isn't there?

This annoys me, and not because the van is there. It is more than likely that those spaces have no traffic order on them anyway so effectively mean squat.
Why do people get so offended at a bit of paint in a car parking space. No offence to anyone severely disabled but you are about to walk around a huge superstore. A couple of extra metres really isn't going to affect you much. The extra space at the side is gladly welcomed i'm sure but a bit of 'wise parking' should see any issues sorted. There are bigger things to worry about.

I not think its a major thing, but it's poor by the Tesco driver. Just needs a quiet word and reminding of his/her duties...

So I assume you think it is acceptable?

It was ill advised and it sounds like the customer service desk didn't handle it very well.

But... if you need to come on PH to ask if it's worth complaining, then I think we all know what the real (non outraged of Tunbridge Wells) answer to that is!

If you feel particularly strongly, ask to speak with the store manager - but tweeting, sending photos to head office etc, is making a mountain out of something pretty insignificant.

Assume what you like. smile

HN has it spot on..the fact someone has posted about this desecration speaks more about the OP than the consequences of a lazy van driver's actions.

It's life,DWI.

You k ow life isn't hard when you start complaining about your parking space being blocked at the supermarket where you go to get your supplies.

Many folks would love to have such an inconvenience. To coin a sketch... Luxury.

We have soldiers that have lost both legs fighting for Queen and country, competing in the paralympics at the hundred metres....... Then we have people thinking the world owes them a fking living !

Rather than get a poor bloody van driver in trouble for working minimum wage on a Sunday trying to make his life easier by parking near where he has to load up his van. Why not chill out for ten minutes....alternatively if your wife has that much of an issue with mobility why not a. Do the shopping yourself you lazy git or b.why not order the shopping online, and get the van driver currently blocking the disabled bays, to deliver it to your door?

My ol' mum is 86, has two plastic hips, a knee & still manages to carry all her shopping across the car park, different generation.

Saying that though I can only imagine that the op's wife's problem may have more to do with the nerve damage than the replacement hip itself.

Disclaimer. I am not a doctor.

Seems to me there are too many people who go through life looking for something to complain about. OK, so the Tesco driver was inconsiderate and the OP's wife was inconvenienced but not that much - she obviously had enough time to spare to stop and take the photo.

To then upload the photo to PH and ask if it's worth complaining about - if I did that everytime some minor little thing disrupted my routine I wouldn't have time to do much else.

What would she have done if those spaces had been taken up with other disabled shoppers cars?

As in the OP probably parked elsewhere, personally, I'd complain to store manager & depending on what they said, I may complain to a higher level.

Is it worth complaining to Tesco head office about this?

When she complained in store, they just replied that the driver would only be 10 minutes.
If that's ahome delivery vehicle then the drivers are usually self-employed. Complain to head office and they'll probably terminate his/her contract.

Perhaps they were going the extra mile and collecting a vital missing item for a disabled customer?

But it's really simple.

Customer parking bays = for customers
Dedicated loading bays for the delivery drivers = for the delivery staff

Not worth complaining about. She wasn't forced to use another space, she could have waited for those, or other spaces to become available - just like she would have done if the spaces were legitimately occupied.

Sorry, but that's bks.

RDC drivers are often agency staff, but home delivery drivers are employed by the store.
