Could have been worse..

•7am – event management met with Police to discuss the flash flood and whether the event can continue. Certain areas of the site are now under 1.5m of water.

You are in for a surprise then. Lots of different generations on festivals in my experience.

To the guy who said "drive it out": Hahaha! Yeah right - all the electronics are screwed and the ignition is electronic... even after it was towed out of the water it wouldn't start, wouldn't recognise the electronic keyfob, and the dash and sat nav were flickering wildly. No chance of driving it anywhere. In fact, no chance of towing it anywhere either as we couldn't release the steering lock so in the end they put it on a flatbed.

To the guy who said "looks a bit old for festivals": Cheeky git smile

Oh - and yeah, the insurance seems to be covering it just fine so that's a major bonus. It's going to be a write-off though they say, so no worries about any of you picking it up in the second hand market :-)

Defender with a snorkel, for next time hehe

Can you find out of that particular piece of land is prone to flooding? If so, that's got to be somewhat negligent on the part of the organisers, surely?

Welcome to PH. A TVR would be a good replacement, no muddy fields though.
