If one wants to troll, then others can as well.

Speed is relative. For example:

So you drive a fun car.

Can you tell me is driving off road fun to some people? Is driving a luxurious 4x4 an enjoyable experience to some? Are you a moron or a very clever troll?

Not speed, note - people whose sole raison d'être is the pursuit of going far too fast for the prevailing conditions aren't encouraged.
I doubt many people speed nowadays really, best off tracking it, anyway lets not shift focus to another moot point.
If you were here from the early days then you should realise why the site was started and what for, hence "speed matters".
Not "image matters", or "what others think of me really matters", or "towing matters"
I wonder why they chose "speed matters"?
If you were here from the start maybe you could recall what "speed matters" means and stands for.

It's a strap line, it doesn't mean anything of substance.

If you have a complaint about the content of the site why not go and see what the response is in website feedback?

You seem to have trouble accepting that people who love cars like different things. If you believe this site is only for those who drive fast then you should probably leave.

I have had many LR vehicles as off road toys. The most reliable were the series Land Rovers, the worst were classic Range Rovers. Many years ago I moved to Toyota Land Cruisers and have not looked back.

Recently I was thinking of getting a FFRR as a road vehicle, I thought they must have improved reliability by now and you read so many "best vehicle" type threads. Before I took the plunge I found this site http://www.rangerovers.net/rrmkiiiremedies.html . Things look just as bad as ever, glad I did not buy one.

If only LR could sort the problems they would be great vehicles, until that time they are not for me.

As far as do should they be on PH goes, yes they should. Thankfully we don't all like the same things.

If it is all about speed then, or in the case of the PH strap line, the discussion of speed: What's faster, a R500 Caterham or a TDV8 Rangie?

But in the example of a vertical drop they would both land at the same time, so be equally fast at covering that distance biggrin

You're right, let's not shift focus. But equally, let's not quote selectively and avoid telling the world what we drive, hey? wink I'm presuming you do drive something.

"Speed matters" is just a clever tagline, nothing more. Don't read more into it than is there - it's short, snappy and to the point (and it looks nice on stickers). It's handy that it happens to be applicable to all vehicles though, not just TVRs. All cars/vehicles, by inference, are able to proceed "at speed", no matter what that speed is. If Haymarket had disliked it when they took over the site from Ted, I'm sure they'd have changed it.

I don't know when "speed matters" was introduced, maybe Podie, JeremyC or one of the really old people hehe can tell you that. (Ted, are you still around?) But the fact that Ted didn't change it even when he started up other subforums is neither here nor there - there are subforums for books, business, gardening, watches, and all kinds of things. They have nothing to do with "speed" or even motion in some cases!

Have you asked people why they bought their RRs, rather than assuming they're all in it for the look of the thing? I'm pretty sure they didn't buy them just to get up the noses of people who can't afford them though. We've got the point - you hate RRs. Well, good for you. I hate several cars and wouldn't be seen dead in them, but I simply don't bother to comment on threads about those. So why are you investing so much effort in bhing about RRs?

OMG
It appears there is some sort of bounder infused Range Rover gang,,,, "you will respect my authoritaaaa",

Does the gang consider others at all in any facet of daily life?
What of,
A Other road users safety when your multi-tonne vehicles hit them
B The environmental impact you are having (disposal of, use of resources to create, etc)
C The impact of such a vehicles crushing weight on poor roads
D What of the pedestrians they crush
E and the effect on others of driving something physically too big for UK roads

Shall I get on the phone to my staff and pull all of our Transit minibuses off the road with immediate effect as they are larger, heavier and often thirstier than a TDV8 Range Rover.

Oh and you're now certainly a Troll or don't drive as most of those considerations wouldn't matter to you if you drive fast or for fun.

Theres a time and a place for everything and not everything suits any time or any place. Restraint.
Kinda the point from the outset, seems too difficult for most.
Bizzarre.
