What a sad story. I'd turn out if I could. Hell, I could have even had a new car by the weekend to take down.

Like your thinking but Aston have been strict on 300 attending on Sunday. This event would probably take over the whole site!
I meant the guy and his son/family, not the whole shooting match!

I'll do my best to be there - I'm not the owner of anything remotely exotic but it's a bright colour.

Might be worth a cross-post over on the Yorkshire section too?

ETA: It's already in the Yorkshire section.

Horrible news but the reaction from all forums has been heart warming. The little chap is going to have a great day!

I hope it is something spectacular

I am not sure of the condition of the poor chap in terms of whether he would be able to make a trip of that distance by car, however, would a helicopter have the range?

Would Aston Martin permit this?

Between the various forums etc, I am sure that we could cover the costs? And I am a guessing there may be a few people with 'contacts' in the aviation sector?

Swooping in over 300 cars from the sublime to the outlandish, surrounded by car nuts and I am sure more than a few would be offering *ahem* passenger rides around - would make a great day for the guy.

Just a thought.

If so, I would be happy to donate money to fly the chap down (what would the mechanism for this be? Paypal etc??)

What a great response. Would love to make it, but its a 5 hour trip each way for me, plus as said, the available space may be a bit short with the support given!

Here is hoping the lil lad has a superb evening

As much as it's a great idea, I can see this turning into a nightmare.

What has probably been discussed as a small gathering of modified cars in the golf club car park is slowly turning into a national event.

Defo worth attending smile

Has nobody suggested that the OP attend the upcoming event at Silverstone this weekend? Trax has everything from drifting to time attack, with huge car clubs surrounding the track.

Surely that will be better than any car 'meet'?

A few emails to the organisers would almost certainly secure tickets FOC too?
