The venue and time has now changed for anyone planning on going down.

I'm oooouuttt then. 6pm start would have worked as I could have headed north straight after work but 1pm I'mm still have 5 hours work left.

Also now has a limit of 500 cars until the land is confirmed.

My heart goes out to this family.

Horrible news but the reaction from all forums has been heart warming. The little chap is going to have a great day!

I hope it is something spectacular
Yeah but it needs everyone to do what they say and turn up. Danger with this is people will assume there will be loads there and think that they will be OK if they give it a miss.

Everyone needs to put up

Cmon guys!

Someone needs to go there in some real exotica for the lad. Fezza's and Lambo's owners please go and give this lad a day to remember.

As a parent this is just too heartbreaking to even contemplate.

Thoughts go out to his parents and family!

As much as it's a great idea, I can see this turning into a nightmare.

What has probably been discussed as a small gathering of modified cars in the golf club car park is slowly turning into a national event.

Defo worth attending smile

So are you saying it's worth attending even though you suspect it will turn into a nightmare? (genuinely confused by your post)

It's perhaps a fair point, but even if significantly more cars turned up that were ever envisaged, I think the show of support by so many would mean a lot.

Looks like they are trying to book an airfield or something larger for the meet as they have already notched up 500 cars for this and don't want to turn people away.

Let's hope that it's a day to remember for the lad and his parents.

No. It will defo be worth attending the event due to the selection of cars confirmed to be attending but unless there is some serious organisation, it will be a total nightmare. 500 cars decending on one location with no form of crowd control etc. It's just not going to end well.

The organisers are now also running the risk of no one turning up as by limiting the number of cars allowed, people will be put off traveling and with no way to tell who will and wont be allowed in, people will just not bother.

They need to get onto some airfields.

ETA : And it appears they have.

They are trying to organize and airfield, scrapping the Ind Est idea.

I've emailed a friend who is heavily involved in the Drift scene to see if he can get some attendees biggrin

Just e-mailed The Sun & Chris Evans with links to both sites.

Damn, this kind of thing puts it all into perspective.

Hopefully one or both may give the Lad something extra.....anything is worth a try with something like this.

I'd be happy to take part also, but think there needs to be some control - especially over talking to the media, as if you actually read the original thread the bloke says they aren't letting the lad know the full picture of his health, so it might not be best if he sees it in the national media?

I think this is a brilliant idea.

Now do you need a decent car to turn up in or could I just give mine a wash and a shine and head on down in that?

The location to this has changed today by the way, any PH'er's in the Midlands who are going, or from anywhere else, fancy taking the interesting route up there? Looking at Google maps today and the quickest route from Stoke to the meet is all B-roads up past Buxton and going to Huddersfield.

Made sure i emphasized the publicity bit in the mails for obvious reasons as you mentioned.

I think this tragedy is already spiralling out of control with the way it is spreading over forums, twitter and facebook etc.
Just trying to help give this poor Lad & his family some joy.
