Judging by the people present in the vid, Autocar will soon be doing a similar article!

Mr Harris,

Could you not have driven all of those on the forecourt, and put together a AMG tour de force video documenting the progression....

Great video but far to short...!!!

I hate to admit that I never knew the Hammer existed until watching this video! Thanks for the introduction to it!

It seems to be relatively smooth and quiet which is how I remember V8 AMG Mercs to be. These days they've gone a bit brash and loud: if you hear a modern Black series car pass by nowadays it seems to be trying too hard to sound like an old American musclecar, rather than the cool gentleman's express of yesteryear.
You're right. You need to go V12 to get that back.

Aarrgghh, the video is too short. Just settling into how much I was enjoying the car when it was all over. Have a major penchant for these. An estate version would have to be in my dream garage. In fact I daydream of a standard W124 estate (late '95 / '96 model) taken to AMG for the oily bits to be swapped with a black series CLK!

wasn't this care based on E500 (hand built by Porsche) and had M119 V8 (rather than M117)? E60 AMG, or is this different model?

Shame the vid was so short, but that's a proper car! I'd have rated it 11 if I could. cool

Would have happily watched an hour long video of the tour and a few of the cars. Always loved AMG and BMW M in equal measure but for different reasons.

Nice car, shame the vid was only 5 mins long. They're getting less each time!

500E.
E500 post facelift, 500E prior to that.

The Hammer came out before the 500 as far as I recall.

This video made me go straight to the classifieds and see what's for sale, great choice of car! I hope that you got to drive the others too, being less rare and a lot newer I'd be curious to know if there are any that you now like but didn't when launched - like you said about the B5 RS4.

Pistonheads needs to start doing more videos!

I love the SL73. Seen a few for sale, some clean low mileage examples priced as low as £35k, and then others of similar condition on JamesList for close to £100k!

That full fat V12 is a thing of beauty.

Love that car, not one I'm familiar with

One question though, who picked the music from a yoghurt (or any other cold/ice desert) advert?
