Looks good to me. I predicted ~1200kg IIRC smile not smug at all wink

Should be good fun! Seems like it will be reasonibly priced too, and I'd expect the engine is easily tunable.

I seem to remeber the 206GTI was the 'new 205GTI' - That didn't pan out so well when the road testers got hold of it!

It will not be as good as the 205 everyone 'remembers'.

I think it needs a road test before a real conclusion, but if it goes anything like as decent as it looks (it looks pretty good to me, even just for a render), it should be a worthy GTI.

A car can be as ugly a sin but as a rule, sin tends not to be boring.

on the pictures it looks like a grown up GTi, nice interuor.

I also like this detail (GTi), its a sort titanium color material, way better then bling chrome.

That over-the-wheel (whatever it is) clock position looks a bit dodgy. Surely it'll obscure your view.

Not that I care, I would never buy a peugoet.
We have a Peugeot Partner van for our business. 6 x months of main dealers saying "it looks like the ECU" failed to make it start reliably. Peugeot have no system for fixing faults on their cars other than throw £1000 parts at it and "see". Hopeless. Given its basically the same engine/turbo/ECU you will need the long warranty, after that its worthless.

What sort of suspension set up does it have ? Tbh for it to beat the next gen Clio sport in the handling department it is going to have to pull out some sort of miracle tbh, next generation clio is also lighter than the current model and 1.6 turbo, it ain't gonna happen peeps the Peugeot will fail, just as all on here said the meg 3 rs wouldn't out perform its competitors lol,

On paper its making all the right noises so i will be interested to see how the road tests go...

the 205 GTI was epic, the 206 & 207 GTis were a half hearted attempt at rebooting the GTi franchise which failed miserably.

Hopefully they can learn by both recipes and make a car as good as it sounds.

Good luck Peugeot smile

My mother had a Peugeot 207. I doubt it could have weighed any more than it did, unless it was made out of the same compressed matter that you find in the centre of a black hole...

So adding a 'powerful' engine to it is hardly going to make it sprightly. I sense the same is true for the 208.

It looks crap, and in comparison its no way near the Clio 200 this thing looks comfier than a saloon inside, and the Turbo engine its no way near an exiting little hot hatch.

And this can beat the upcomming Clio 210-220 if it drives better but is not a patch on older hot hatches, thats obvious but stop comparing these new gen cars to older ones cause they will never have that feel its useless.

I can see this as the same with the new R.S Clio ,Polo Gti etc appealing more to a lot of people, not for driving enthusiasts as any new car is now (bar the hardcore gt86 sold in Japan).

No, not at all:

Oh wait...

Didn't mind the rest of the car, 1.0L 3cylinder would be the one I'd have, but those dials are just woeful.

Its already got an advantage over the Clio...it only has 3 doors.

It looks good, but as said above, a bit too generic.

Cant see the point in slating it until its been driven. They might just pull a rabbit out of the hat as I'm sure they're well aware of the danger of comparing it with the 205 if its a dud again.

I am a massive RenaultSport fan and always have been but this seems like it might have the upperhand in many way's, lighter, 3 doors and while not good looking certainly better than the new clio shot's we've seen.

Then again RenaultSport seems to mean more to people nowadays than the Peugeot GTi which sort of got forgotten in the last few years. Will people just overlook it and walk straight past.

This is a GTI? I never thought I'd say this, but Peugeot should have a look at the "Badly Modified Car" thread for some inspiration. It's magnolia.
