And then tried to sell it the day you received it....

How much do you recon you would be offered for it?

Well muggins here (me) is in that situation and I was offered £37k from a dealer.
(A6 S-Line 3.0 TDI Quattro with some options)

Have I completely mugged myself off MASSIVELY or do you think I'll ever even be able to get £45k for it? Or am I living in a dream-world and should bite someone's arm off for £40k and basically lose a st ton.

I am prepared for the ribbing, jibes and general hate. I probably deserve it.

Worst look at the car I have for sale post EVER. You may have to remove the link as you aint allowed to advertise in the forums.

Good luck with the sale though must be a horrible situation to be in but got to ask wouldnt it have been cheaper to cancel the order and lose the deposit?

Mods will lock this shortly as it appears to be 'advertising' for your car on the forum, which isnt allowed.

Which is a shame as its an interesting topic.

Unfortuantly I think you've made a major cockup. Its not a particulary special car, and I suspect that the majority of these that you see on the road are uually company cars. Therefore private buyers are going to be rare.

Dealers have you over a barrel. They cluck on about depreciation when you drive off the forecourt, but really speaking, all hey want is to skin you alive.

I'd chuck it through an auction I think. Probably get a better price for it there than at a single dealer, set a high reseve and see what it gets you back.

either that or arrange for it to be 'stolen'..

List and what you paid could be two totally different things, how much was the final invoice?then divide by 12 and multiply by 10 to get at your minus vat number, what does that leave you at???

ETA, BTW, ooooof

Sorry mate not my intention to garner more views, I'm not that stupid to think that forum views are some how gonna enhance my ability to sell it. I was more after peoples opinions on how much of my shirt I will actually lose.

And yes I should have cancelled it ages ago.

It's an A6 S-Line 3.0 TDI Quattro.

The other option is simply to drive it into the ground over the course of the next 15 years. fk.

I'm gonna say you loose a third driving off the forecourt. But, if it ain't particularly desirable, stand by for a shock. Earlier this year, PH classifieds had a Chrysler 300c SRT with 10 miles on the clock, yes, 10 miles. Reduced from £42,000 to £25,000. Ouch !
