Well, today's challenge is getting it insured. So far, no one will touch it with that roll bar in place.
Anyone want the bar?
With all the Track day boys proper roll bars are in demand £170 - £300 depending on the type / makeAnyone want the bar?
- Is it mounted to the parcel shelf, or the bulkhead underneath?
- Do you know the manufacturer?
- Does it allow for full seat travel (important for fairly tall chaps)
But, yeah, you should be able to get a bit of cash back. Message me if you want to sell, I'm after one atm.
Despite slightly backtracking, as it were, he's still incapable of *really* understanding the appeal.
Ask a Concorde pilot to understand the appeal of a Cessna 172 single engine plane. It'll mystify.
Likewise, ask your friendly F-15 pilot to explain his love of the same '172.
Better still, ask the pilot who just landed on an aircraft carrier what he loves about his '172.
You grok now?

The S2000 is another step up the ladder though isn't it. Not really a like for like. It's like comparing an S2000 to a SL 65 AMG.
I agree, when this thread was written the S2000 was way more expensive but now I'd take a second hand s2k over new MX5CraigyMc said:
Yeah, but if you drive a Honda you turn up a year late to participate in the thread.
I don't anymore, this thread was linked to in the MX5 piece on the front page.ds2000 said:

For me the S2000 is a far far better car, it actually accelerated and I'd have another in a heartbeat.
Oh, can you get these for £800 now then? And insure them for £150? Didn't think so. The impression I've had from PH is that it's really only the Mk1 and a bit the Mk2 that people are interested in, because they are such excellent value. I'd have to agree that you can do better for the cost of a newish Mk3.Edited by dme123 on Friday 30th May 12:06

^ nice! that thing must really shift?!
It's fairly quick. 0-60 is in the low 4s. Not sure of the top end, but the standard 278 bhp Boxster S is supposed to be over 170 mph and I've got 100 bhp on top. I'll have to do some proper stat gathering using a phone app at some point. 30 to 100 would be interesting to know.jon- said:
