The owners of these Porsche's waited a long time for them to arrive in this condition. It was not the drivers fault and he was not badly hurt.

To protect the cars from the environment and minimise rectification work required at the dealer before sale, I would guess.

Ironic in this case? hehe

Ouch. Looks like an expensive paint smear on the road!

jeez! 200k worth of cars on there too, wouldn't want to be driving anywhere near that
£200k of SLR just nosed on the back!

Viper, Corvette, Maserati/Ferrari on the lower front, 360 Spider, 996's and 997's, M5 and SLR.

Let me take a wild guess....some tt, probably in an Audi, made a last second dash for the slip, cutting across the chevrons and forcing the transporter driver to take avoiding action, which resulted in the transporter losing control and flipping over.

Ffs would people on Pistonheads please stop guessing, all we get day in day out is people commenting on situations and how they happened based on nothing but a couple of photos! (no I don't have an Audi by the way)

Now, now petal don't get upset.
I'm speaking from personal experience, as that usually happens to me at least once a week.

I deal with transporters all day, and watching them get the cars on is fasinating.

But its in the winter it becomes a mare. Rain, wind and poor visability makes the job proper harsh.

the feckers are allergic to taking the lorries in to a Dealership car park though !
Why oh Why do they always park on the road outside, fking up the traffic to unload ?
Because the majority of dealership car parks don't have a car park with long enough of a straight to take a double transporter, the ramps and then room to bring the car off them.

bks.
I drive, on average, 1000 miles a week, considerably higher than average.

How often do you reckon I get held up by traffic caused by transporters unloading?

On a school trip to Germany I saw a Transporter with either 6 or 7 Testarossas on it, quite a sight for a 13 year old in 1986

Cant beat the 12 car carriers Toleman used to run in the 90's, closest anyone else had at the time was 9 car.

You can get 13 car carriers now. Admittedly it's 13 small cars, but then an 80's Granada is about the size of today's Corsa.

For a time I was planning trucks with 8 x Jaguar XJ's (X350's) on, and we never allowed the drivers to park anywhere other than Motorway services if they couldn't tip within hours. The same went with any high value load.
