I've come to the conclusion that all vans look better in race livery, simply because it makes them look like race-support vehicles.

I can picture that Transit carrying tools and spare parts for a Group C car.
I'm not sure about the 'why' but vans definitely seem to be able to better fit race livery than similar humdrum cars. I've seen a lovely cunningham striped Transit around a few times, shouldn't work but it does.

I don't think it suits the DBS but looks awesome on the V12V.

Couldn't decide whether it worked or not really...,

I love Gulf colours, but something about that just isn't right.

Looks good on fully stickered up, real race cars. On ANYTHING else it looks utter gash and is so overdone I'd rather the Burberry check!

Road cars, motorbikes, push bikes, watches, clothes, furniture, bedroom walls, all of it...utterly naff.

yes
(I'll exclude myself from the Burbery check comment though!)

If that is your photo, I must have stood about 10 feet from you when it was taken- the same year that they had several others in JPS and silk cut livery? 2010 or 2009- beer blunts the memory

Edit, actually 2008 or 7, they were y last years in camping blu
They were camping near us on beausejour one year, had a silk cut robin with them that year too

I think it's because a van is built to cart things around in, so a liveried van - even if it's full of joinery and building gear - can do quite a passable impression of a team transporter.

But if a car is all liveried up, it needs a stripped-out interior with a roll-cage to carry the vibe off successfully. Anything less and it becomes a tribute, which loses the sense of purpose that makes it cool.

Like the JPS Lotus liveried 2002 Fiesta I saw earlier today smile

I'd be interested to know if anyone has done it to a road going 12C yet.

Although, they seem to have swapped the colours round here?

+1, I'd be totally pissed off with that effort.

Maybe it's that blue underneath, and the gulf stuff is just decals?

Well, I'm not 100% about this, but think the wheels might be putting me off more than the livery...

Not sure if this is the same one,but there was one exactly the same in the Grune Holle car park earlier this summer.
