I liked the old RCZ. That facelift has, for me, ruined it.

Difficult to fault my 200GT for daily usage, except for perhaps the seats are a bit too firm for my liking on long trips. Peak torque at just 1800rpm never ceases to amaze me for such an engine.

Definitely wouldn't swap for the new model on looks alone, but I might be interested in the chip they use on the R.

Why it's at a Skoda dealership just boggles the mind.
Not really. The owner probably needed a more practical car. Skoda do make exciting cars you know - Octavia VRS, hell even the 3.2 V6 Superb Estate is a bit PH.

What? confused
It's like someone squashed the megane.
Really? I'd have said it looks like someone designed and built an actual small coupe, instead of just rebranding a whacking great 3dr hatch as one....

Horrible looking car imo, the facelift is 10x better than the original though. The interior is very dull, overall *thumbsdown*

I got one. Bought purely on looks. It drives fine, steering is a BIT negative and the ecu tends to cut power a bit prematurely under heavy accelerating but the grip (probably due to the tyre size) is great and it is a very comfortable, well specced car.

I find it a lot more interesting than an Audi TT, a few people have said "their about £25k, you could have had a TT for that" which usually makes me roll my eyes. I was walking back towards the car parked on a busy high street yesterday & i could see lots of people were giving it second glances and one guy even walked backwards and crouched down to double take the bubble roof, If it was a TT parked there im sure no one would have given it a second glance as their so common.

As for it being cheap inside? The look and feel is perfectly acceptable. The only thing I will say is that the central storage compartment is a st design and the passenger seat seems to squeek for no reason if theres no passenger in the car.

The main downside for this car is the overactive traction control/ECU power cut, if this was watered down and mounted to a 260bhp engine I am sure it would be a great car. 260bhp means it whallops the TT and puts it within touching distance of the TTS, if the money is right (i'm going £30k) it will be pretty decent value considering the kit that comes on them as standard.
I've never understood the whole RCZ is a rip off of the TT thing... And I'm a TTS owner. The RCZ actually started out as a concept pick up... In the midst of that they discovered they were on to something and developed it into a car. Yes it's in the same vein but a rip off, no. There are plenty of people on the TT forum who hate the RCZ, it's easy to say it's a copy without knowin the facts.
I hope the RCZ R is the business in the handling department, it's heavier than my TTS but I have 4wd and Audi still failed to make magic out the chassis though not as bad as the fwd TT's. My old 205 1.9, Clio 16v or GTi-6 would've out handled my TTS and been a more rewarding drive. Different story on the quality but none of the Frenchies never let me down. More open minds are needed but Peogeot need to serve up cars of substance that make want to check them out. Audi weren't really pulling up any trees till the TT came along.
I'm not a big fan of the Z's front end but it worked, the facelift also works but it's safe. With 260hp it could've been given a edgier, more subtle but agressive facade.

The facelift isn't spoiling anything, but its no great improvement. Definitely NOT on my "wish I had one of those" list.

According to "Howmanyleft" there are 5600 RCZs registered on the roads of England.

Ah, that explains why the rear deck looks longer than the bonnet, if it had a slightly shorter wheel base it wouldn't look too bad.

I like it. As mentioned it looks a bit like the Aston but in an ok way. The thick front bumpers have been removed and it just 'looks faster'.

I think Peugeot done the right think making this car. Its something different that a lot of companies would'nt have taken a chance on.

Exxxactly!!! All this waffle about pug going all out to copy the TT is people just presuming and not knowing the facts. It's not a car for me but I do like the RCZ.

Just far too much gaping japanese cartoon character in it for me. Grills too big and huge headlight clusters...

My very poor use of paint.

Someone with skills and a decent package might do a better job...

Looks like a beautiful car. A bit of an edgier version of the Audi bathtub. Of course, not available here in the U.S. And I would never touch one, after having bought a Peugeot 505 TD in the 80's. What a piece of garbage. I learned a lifelong lesson with that piece of trash.

I really like the looks of the RCZ. The facelift has made it even prettier.

I've never taken them seriously because of the lack of power and poor reviews.

The engine makes it much more desirable. Although the dash and wheel look like their out of an ageing mini-cab. Where's the meter?

So, is this one any good to drive?

Yes, I always compare a modern car with what the manufacturer was making in the 80s when American cars were at the top of their game. rolleyes

I'd like a Cadillac CTS-V but maybe I should re-consider that, given they made the Cimarron.

Sorry, what poor reviews? It isn't perfect, certainly isn't poor though.

I stand corrected, the misses always points them out when we see one and comments how pretty it is, and I (knowing everything about cars) tell her its got the looks but nothing else.

Oops. The reviews aren't bad at all. Thank you smile
