A few mods and a private plate and my 55 £30k DB9 looks like a £130 car, nice one!
Only to someone who doesn't know Astons very well. If you change the front lights you're going to need to change the wings, bonnet and bumper. Not going to be cheap.
Cheaper than buying a new one!

Yes lovely in the 90's .
Hardly cutting edge.

Sure it'll be a classic they almost all will be (x DB7).

Even 007 has moved on.

Is it Lazyness, Cost or Fear of getting it wrong.

This is how Bristol Cars ENDED ....
are you off your meds?

DB9 is not a "90s" car. It's aluminium ffs!

007 - I've no idea. Back to the DB5 isn't he? All pre-DB7s were lumpy truck-coupes IMO.

So they fear "getting it wrong". They seem to have found an answer then...

What do you want? An Aston Bangle-6-Series? An Aston (Cadillac) CTS? GTR? Just something different, oh-so modern, and just not 'right'? A lumpy AM won't sell (re: Rapide, to an extent). It's got to be right.

Bristol ended because too few people who knew of them, who could afford them, wanted them (re: lumpy pre-DB7 AMs). Playing exclusivity at that extreme is a risky business that nearly did for AM too.

Reprises I'd have said. Revives implies it was practically dead.

still a lovely looking car, the comment about the alteration - moving the sterring wheel to the left made chuckle thanks.

I do worry how long the current AM design can continue and yes I am still a fan, a good alternative to the ever popular 911/rarri/lambo club

How anyone can describe current Astons as looking "dated" is beyond me. Morgans look dated
Absolutely agree sir. Add to that Caterams (from 1973), Ariel Atoms (first shown in 1996), Radicals (from 1997) and that's before we mention any form of Porsche...

Where's the derision for their supposed lack of revolution? As far as I'm concerned the Aston trumps them all for sheer beauty if not singularity of purpose.

The design is cohesive and makes any Ferrari 2+2 look ugly.
This is a fair point to anyone banging on about it being the same design.

At least that same design was good to begin with and not goppingly ugly like current Ferraris are.

Remember the 355/550/456 and then imagine they'd just evolved those designs rather than coming up with the horrible crap they have now, much better.

Just imagine for a minute that you haven't seen any Aston Martins before, and then just take in the sheer beauty of this car:

It really is utterly stunning. Anyone who says these cars are 'boring' just because they haven't changed in a while needs to check their brain. This car is beautiful.
The problem is we have seen them before. A lot.

They are also the generic choice these days for people who want a cool car. This, by definition, makes them uncool

As much as I love these cars (db9/virage/dbs/Vanquish) I am getting fed up with all this swapping around.

Time for a complete overhaul at AM I think.

I don't get all the hating. In my eyes this is an elegant car as are all cars coming out of Gaydon ignoring the ugly duckling. If you have a car which a lot of people think is fundamentally a great looking car, why would you change it significantly as some are suggesting?

Whilst I don't like the way Porsche 911s look, I understand that a lot of people do, and that is why Porsche have stuck with the design for so long. Ditto Apple with the iPhone 5, incrementally better but not ground breaking because why would you mess with a winning formula?

Er, Bristol made weird, wilfully ugly cars that cost silly money and wouldn't let the press near them. That's why Bristol went bust.

So I want an elegant, long-legged GT. If not this, then what?

So many seem to think AM have dropped the ball - what are the alternatives?

It's virtually perfect looking.

Aston have nailed it...again.
It looks better with a proper roof imo, the Volantes don't do much for me.
I'm becoming a huge fan of convertibles since I got my Z4MR. Hardtops are boring in comparison yes

I dont think they are using Bristols school of thought, but more like Porsches. Looks remarkably like the Virage they discontinued last week though!!!

There's the Maser GranCabrio, but despite it being gorgeous, it looks far too long from the side:

Aye and slagging people off for choosing something because everyone else does to appear cool is what everyone else does to appear cool.

Sheep. Sheep everywhere!
