The love child of a California and an S2000 ..... That statement should be taken as a compliment, rather than a criticism, as both of those cars are fantastic machines.
I thought S2000 as soon as I saw it. Though I think it's the love child of a Maserati Gransport and an S2000. I seriously think that when all you doubters see more shots of the car you are going to be impressed. Its just like the CX 16 with beautiful proportions and stance. in the right colour/wheel combo its modern, sleek and just gorgeous.
There's some more to come in terms of spec but wait til Paris.

Quite Japanese-looking. I see S2000 in there and hints of the Nissan 350Z.
Price? To be revealed later, no doubt.
Oli.

Is it just me, or does the phrase "The full reveal" really grate? Surely it should be "The full revelation, non?
It's sad to say, but it's no E-type more XJS revisited.
I too am somewhat confused by the response to this. Ok, so it looks like a smaller XK... is that bad? The XK looks fantastic. It looks a bit like a Ferrari California... again, don't really see how that's a bad thing. Sure, the styling's pretty traditional, obviously a lot of cues coming from the likes of the current Aston range - some of the best looking cars ever produced, no?
To me it looks exactly how a Jaguar should: Understated but purposeful. No, it's not that "distinctive" but that just means it has a better chance of aging well. In 50 years these will still look good because they've resisted the urge to get too carried away with whatever styling trends are popular at this particular moment.

Overall it's cracking, but I think there are too many vents in the nose, something I'd imagine a good body kit could resolve. Looks aside - and I think the coupe will be prettier - something that small and light with a supercharged 5 litre v8 is going to be quite a laugh...
If it has a fraction of the California's ability and similar looks for what will probably be sub 50% of the cost it's going to be a winner. And it will hav done exactly what he original etype did too...

Looks fantastic from those shots. Brilliant.
Now cue 20-30 pages of posts saying all new cars are st, buying a car on finance is a disaster, Chris Harris is on the take and that people don't understand why people don't buy V8 saloons for £3000 paid for in cash by 2p's you've saved in a bottle for 13 years.
My thoughts exactly... Happens every time. It won't sell, it's a fail, they should've done this, built that. Not enough power, too much power, the wheels are wrong, betrayed there core values. Then when they start selling it's a waste of money, you bought the wrong car, it'll be worth £10 in 3yrs... Sometimes it's amusing, sometimes I think wtf and read something else. Now cue 20-30 pages of posts saying all new cars are st, buying a car on finance is a disaster, Chris Harris is on the take and that people don't understand why people don't buy V8 saloons for £3000 paid for in cash by 2p's you've saved in a bottle for 13 years.
