To quote Raul Julia in The Gumball Rally as he rips off the rear view mirror: "The first rule of Italian driving, whatsa behind me is not important!"

The key fob does have an F logo on it, it's just not showing.

599 wipers are WAAAAAAY better than 612 wipers. All bits on my 612 worked for the 15k miles I put on it, couldn't fault it.......except the wipers, which I seriously thought were faulty and sent the car back to the main dealer for them to investigate. Oh how they laughed.

Interesting article and proof that Ferrari haven't changed some things since the days of the 456.

My wipers are crap, had to carry a 13ml socket with me when touring the highlands to tighten them up every few days. The Becker head unit is rubbish, even by 90's standards and the switches are clunky, though they do at least work.

Will give those silicon wipers a try though.

shout calling Chris Harris, somebody from What Car appears to have stolen your PH login.

Worrying about the bloody key? You should see a 288's key, hardly detracts from the anticipation of what is to come. Windscreen wipers? Seriously?

I don't like how you have to slam the boot closed though smile

Thanks crusoe, it does look a bit like a key for a 156. smile
? Pretty certain my 156 GTA had a fold-away blade like a VAG key and looked considerably less like a novelty souvenir than that.
I've only briefly held a similar key for a 156 V6 back in 2000
This was the key for my old 156 V6 (a 2000 car as well as it happens):

I am probably missing the point completely but doesn't a 270 mile range somewhat dent this cars "GT" credentials?

This is why I love Piston Heads forum.

How are the bike lessons going?

Don't have to worry about wipers there.
No - but you do have to worry about the rain in a way car drivers don't :-)

similar comment on key on the maser Granturismo - really bad

but Fiat can make decent keys, the key I had for my 1998 Coupe 20v turbo was a splendid metal bodied affair

Many years ago I had a genuine Rolls Royce key fob, which was a horrible lump of black plastic with the RR logo crudely embossed on it. I’d occasionally leave it visible when feeling pretentious to impress young ladies, which worked a treat right up to the point that they realised the actual car was in fact a series 1 (rwd) Cavalier. (I did say it was a while ago!)

Surely Ferrari are missing a trick with the options list RE: keys? Make one out of carbon and charge £500 for it! Anyone who catches sight of that awful red blob will want one without question.

Isn't the problem that when car manufacturers stopped making normal keys they went balls-out naff? Look at the Huayra key, who would want a mini version of the car they're driving sticking out of the dash board? Looks like some sort of omen warning of a crash.

I test drove one for the fist time recently and found it funny that the starter button only starts it and you need to turn it off via the key to stop the engine... not an issue just thought the big red button would do both...

Overall with the various gremlins listed I still want one and have not been put off at all... Just need to find the right one.
