My husband was assaulted on our driveway last night and they took his red Audi s4 (YS10 OJT). This happened in Manchester and unfortunately they turned off his iPhone before it could be tracked.
I'll add it to the stolen cars thread later, but I'm on my phone and can't sort the formatting.
Please can you keep an eye out and report any suspicious behavior is a red s4 even if the plates have been changed.
Thank you.

Possibly has a broken nose and a few bruises from the s kicking him on the floor and stamping on his head. Could have been worse as the said they had a knife when they didn't know how to start the engine.

I don't think this picture shows it very well, but it's quite a dark red rather than pillar box red.

Bunch of s! I hope he's ok.

Unfortunately these stories seem far more common-place since they've increased car security. I now leave my car keys right by the front door, so they're nice and easy to find should someone want to steal it. I'd rather them take my car than them attacking me or my family.

It almost puts you off owning a nice car, unless you can hide it somewhere.

What a horrible thing to happen! frown

I hope the car gets returned to you in one piece but if it doesn't I truely hope they stack it into a wall and die an awful death. I hope your Husband makes a full and quick recovery too.

My keys were just inside the front door when the bds broke in, so they just grabbed the car keys and took the car. Girlfriend said it was a stupid place to leave them, but the cops said it was the best place for them to be.

I'm a lot wiser now.. I own a shotgun, and the cars have gps trackers installed. Doesn't stop them from getting me outside, but if they set foot into my house, they won't get out alive

Would you like to come and live with us?!
Just bought a load of razor wire (and the obligatory warning signs so the buggers can't sue us if they shred their hands!)

I'd like to take a golf club to them, unfortunately there's been no sign so far and the police think it's either been stripped for parts or in is a container and was stolen to order for Nigeria.

Looks like we're going to be a 1 car family and I'll have to be brave and let James drive Izzy (with strict instruction of rev limits allowed!)

Lowest form of life. I hope your husband makes a quick full recovery.

Good job he didn't fight them for it, the outcome may have been far worse. As for the car I fear your right. Most performance cars are taken for export. If you replace it with another a tracker is worth every penny. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that. I'm surprised that ALL PH'rs by now, if they've a decent car, haven't fitted an extra tracker system. Ideally one that doesn't 'give' itself away, has an anti hi-jack facility, and can be triggered remotely to halt the car. And an option to permanently disable the thief.

Yeah, but that needs to happen when the car is a mile from home, not on the driveway.

Sorry to hear about this OP. I think poeple like this should get the book thrown at them if/when caught. How can it be tollerated that a man cannot own a nice car through fear of being attacked on his driveway? Apalling.

As a first point that isn't terribly helpful in the situation is it? And secondly why would you want a mass produced car back after some dirty oik has redlined it from cold, banged it about up and down kerbs, sat his skanky little baghead body in the drivers seat and generally abused it? With a car like that which can easily be replaced the only people that benefit from a Tracker is the insurance company. If you owned one of the few remaining Auto Union racers that is essentially irreplacable then fine, if not get a fresh one.

First off it was a lease car so couldn't have out own tracker. Also, they thought he had disabled it because the clutch had to be pressed ridiculously hard for it to start. This was when they threatened him with a knife. I'd rather they took it and buggered off than get angry on our doorstep.
I'd looked into getting a "this car has a tracker fitted" sticker but heard they'll just demand you disable it or rip the car apart to disable it.
I don't think there's a simple option to fully protect yourself unfortunately.
