I have a techie question, what are the vents on the rear axle that look like standard car suspension turrets. Looks like they vent the discs or wheel bearings or what!?

Mr. Singer has also written an excellent book on Porsche's 16 Le Mans victories (he was involved with all of them) called 24:16. Very highly recommended, it's one of the best motorsport related books I've ever read.
