Find this one a bit strange. If it needed to be updated, do the job properly. If it didn't, just leave it completely alone.
All a bit half-hearted to me.
I believe a totally new R8 is due 2015.

This is a facelift effectively iirc

I'm so glad they are keeping the manual option for the UK. A proper sports car needs a proper gearbox.

Best R8 is my R8 Daytona grey, tan leather interior V8 manual.... I previously had a Maserati Gransport, and my R8 blows that away (except for noise).

I would love a new R8 V10 S-Tronic, but no way could I justify the price.

If I had the money to buy a car for over 100K I would be looking at second hand Gallardo not a brand new R8 (even though I really love mine)

When they come down to sensible prices in a few years time I will have a blue S-Tronic V10 spider... Yum

actually, the r8 is not conventional pretty. in fact, it's design is quite ungainly but it somehow manages to look contemporary for the past 5 years which is no mean feat. I still dun figure it as a pretty car

I have an R-tronic V10 Spyder at the moment, nothing in this update particularly interests me or would prompt me to upgrade. I enjoy the R-tronic as is, so S-tronic holds no excitement for me at all.

Everybody's acting like not much changed.

A 0.3 second drop in 0-62 mph is very significant and when you are accomplishing this when you began at 3.8 seconds, I think it is huge. That is flat out lightning quick.

Still one of the best-looking supercars, ATM. The new tranny is big news, since it improves acceleration so significantly. Nice that they didn't go overboard with the facelift, the LEDs look good, IMO. Not sure about the wheels, but that's a small issue.

Bottom line: still a superb looking car, now with performance to match its looks. thumbup

The V10 Plus is the only car in the class I could ever actually imagine owning and using.

Stunning things.
