I REALLY don`t want "realistic" sound, I want REAL sound!
Bang on!There's no need for any silly 'speaker wire cutting' to bypass it.

Hmmm.
I'll be sticking with my current 200 for a while, could even become a future classic (last of a dying breed and all that).
Looks great from the front but a bit grim/Seat from the back.
Fake engine sounds are bit Fisher price... hopefully this can be turned off. Or even twinned with fake flame effects from the exhaust tips?
I think the 200 is one of the best hot hatches Renault has ever made, differently a future classic.I'll be sticking with my current 200 for a while, could even become a future classic (last of a dying breed and all that).

Because nobody cares. Who gives a st how much it weighs. Its not as if we have to lift it up. Cd Aerodynamics has a more important role than weight.
I rather know the 0-60, top speed, and bhp, torque figures than anything else.

Power is irrelevant if they don't tell us how much the thing weighs, how that fact isn't near the top of every stat list these days is beyond me.
I've got every faith in the Renaultsport engineers, but they appear to have a mountain to climb (speaking as somebody who owned various RS Clios but has moved onto a Sportka as I was fed up of the ever increasing lard).

I think you'll find lots of people here do, if it was revealed that it only weighed 700kg for some insane reason then I think most people (inc me) would change their minds completelyWCZ said:

I hated the nose on the 200, but its really grown on me, and I think now makes the 197 look a bit bland. However, that view from the side/rear, horrid. MPV like just like almost every other small hatch these days. Not keen on 5 doors, I can still clearly see its a 5-door car.
Engine - Yet another turbo 4-pot. Yes, I know, you can "map it". Still doesn't make it more interesting.
Gearbox - Don't think this is as bad as made out, but having driven a DSG Audi TT I do think it will take some of the involvement away from the driver. At least have it as an option. With that being said though, I don't mind having automatic gears for a lot of daily driving. However, with Renault's shocking reliability, I wouldn't like one of these without a warranty.
Simulated noise - I think this will probably sound OK, but I see peoples points. And once Renaults dodgy electrics take hold, and the sound is distorting and cutting out it wont sound too impressive I'm guessing.
Overall, MEH. But I wouldn't buy another Renault anyway. Unreliable heaps.
