i was using an elastic band to hold my rear mobius to the roof lining so it was descreet at the back of the car

sadly the hot weather kept on destroying the elastic bands and it'd fall down

I got a plastic milk bottle and cut a long strip of plastic out of it, hole in each end

i then threaded the plastic strip through the case of the mobius holder and pushed a roof lining plastic plug through it.

Now its very secure and very discreet

very pleased with myself

if anyone wants a pic, please shout

i worry that they will want to see the footage, then try to find reasons why not to pay out.

Bit of a fright this morning.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUt883Tsy7s&fe...

A90 Northbound to Aberdeen just before the Spurryhillock junction. Called a 999 in afterwards, but it had already been reported.

(Ignore my ramblings!)

I think what's more disturbing is that I managed to spot it before the Mercedes did!

After I passed him I took a look over and he was staring dead ahead. Maybe trying to desperately apply restrictive pressure!

I purchased a cheap and cheerful G1W dash cam last Christmas for the other half. An unfortunate spell of non-fault accidents under her belt made me want to get one for her to prevent out of hand claims in future.

Here's some footage just from the last 2 days. Yes 2 days, forget 7 months worth of idiotic driving, we just don't have the hard drive space to keep it all.

One way street, go to about 50 seconds in:

Straight away a risky Cyclist, a minute later VW not giving way

Does the camera give an accurate perception of speed ? Looks like you are going considerably faster than 20 in most of those 20 zones.

I'm going to put mount and wiring in my other car.

I just remembered that there was a green wire to the back of the old stereo which I removed and taped off, it was a 5v supply.

So I'm going to check it still has 5v on it and if it does chop the USB end off a cable and I should be good to go.

I'm guessing there will be a black and red cable inside the insulation or is that just wishful thinking.

I apologise if you have already mentioned it, but what camera is that - the clarity is very good. smile

It's a Mobius:

Good quality, the car mounts are a bit bulky though. Mine is hidden behind the rear view mirror, but it's a bit ugly from the passenger seat.

No reason to stop whatsoever! However, won't your wife still be responsible? I thought from an insurance standpoint you are meant to always be able to stop in the distance you can see to be clear?

Argh - what an absolute cunny pulling that stunt. I imagine the police might have words, but I think James' wife will be held liable.

The cutting up was exactly as you said, nothing more than antisocial.

The emergency stop was something else. Clearly he got annoyed at my wife sounding the horn for his cutting up so thought he would teach her a lesson. His statement to the Police mentioned no dog/child etc. he just said he tapped the brakes for the corner. Clearly he is not telling the truth.

Without the camera footage we would certainly find the liability at our door. I am hopeful that the insurers can view the footage and agree that the driver had no need to stop and that it was an act of maliciousness. The fact his statement said there was no obstruction and he simply 'tapped' the brakes for the corner must have some bearing on his actions in the video. I hope sense will prevail in the insurers world.

Got my fingers crossed for you that they will examine the evidence and use it in context.
