This is partly a reply to Wayne on the previous page (if you can wait for the specs and for this to be released) and also to ask if anyone knows any more about the new 'Mini 0806 - or Mini 0803PRO' that is apparently in trials atm -see here
https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/mini-0806-mi...
I was about to go for the 0803, but may wait a little while to keep an eye on developments.

I saw that before I ordered my 0803 and decided that higher-resolution isn't going to make much difference when it's already 1296. Arguably one doesn't even need more than 1080...

The night performance is more than up to the job and the 0803 seems very good value.

Do you know what the camera used there is?
I'd like to know too. In the market to buy one - but absolutely no idea what. But that quality/info is very impressive.

Speed display on recordings was turned off otherwise it can display that too.
Bought from Greensum on fleabay
Am I right in thinking that a 64GB micro SD card can be fitted in this (if required) which will enable a longer recording time before the old video footage is over-written?

Mine's all fitted and working beautifully. It works fine on the class 6 card in S.Fine mode as far as I can see (was mentioned by someone earlier that it needed C10...) .

The quality is superb, even in the overcast conditions today. It's also cheap and discreet enough that I don't think I'll have any concerns about leaving it in-situ when parked up.
For the 0803 dash cam I think a faster class 10 Micro SD card is required if you select 5 minutes record time instead of 1 or 3, and also if you have selected S.Fine recording mode whilst using the maximum resolution of 1296, I'm saying this from information provided by a colleague of mine who initially had problems with his 0803 dash cam non-recording of video files, which he finally sussed out was due to too much data being thrown at his class 6 card which wasn't fast enough to handle the data so started to lose files. He switched to a class 10 micro SD card and the problems went away. He then discovered that he could get away with using a class 6 card by changing the resolution down to 1080p, selecting 'Fine' and reducing the recording block time to 1 or 3 minutes fixed the problem.

I mention this just in case you or anyone else is suffering from missing video clips and/or erratic recording, it might just be down to the choice of micro SD card you are using

Must say that the quality of video on the 0803 is much better than the 0801 at night-time or on less bright days. I certainly don't have any complaints about my 0801 in the daytime in normal lighting conditions.

Perhaps he had an issue with his card? I'm using those exact settings and it's recorded perfectly.

Agreed mpv should have held back.

I don't know that junction but it looks like one of those oddballs with a huge roundabout with a road through the middle. If you want to go back you go all the way round and join on a slip. Was there a no u-turn sign?

If not then should have held back. Surprise Space Speed.
No, but there was a blue right arrow - AKA no U turn, no left turn etc.

My LK-9700 ARA arrived today and it is spot on!

Video quality is superb, it's also a fair bit more discreet than my old LB100 (as that has a daft silver lens!) and it's easier to work with as the SD card slot is on the right hand side of the device rather than the LB100 which has it on the left behind a cover.

Seriously impressed with it!

Also, had a wander around Tesco and found a SanDisk 32gb class 10 SD card for £15, so that was swiftly bought and installed as well!

Surely the mong was the people carrier?

BMW sitting clearly out of regular position, indicator on well in advance. Where exactly was he going to go?

In the people carrier I would have held back.
It was definitely the people carrier who failed to read the situation, or just chose not to, to be awkward.

He probably had a dash cam on too. Couldn't wait to get home and upload it to you tube, or send it to the police and expect a full investigation.. wink

I really dislike the growing popularity with dash cams. A certain type of driver seems attracted to them.

I don't like the idea of it either, in a Big-Brother kind of way. But, I bought one, after seeing the ridiculous amount of tttery on display as soon as I was doing a decent length commute every morning. I bought it to cover my own ass, because I think it's going to be necessary at some point, and I'm not critiquing everyone's driving and rushing home to upload to youtube. I might do a compilation of the most stupid stuff at some point, but moreso for learning about video editing than anything else.

Sorry folks. I had completely forgotten to update.

Still being reviewed I'm afraid. Our insurers aren't willing to apportion blame as they deem the other party to have caused the accident. The other side are being exceptionally slow in reverting too which isn't helping matters.
Any news on this?

We're still waiting I'm afraid. I know they're reviewing it as every so often I get asked to allow another person access to the video.

Just a waiting game I guess. Our insurers have said they will take it down the legal route if need be.

Hi, Does anyone have any photos of dash cameras mounted in cars around the rear view mirror? I cant seem to find any taken from outside the car showing it.

I am worried about permanently mounting a dash camera front and rear in the car and people thinking it is a sat-nav or similar and simply breaking in for the hell of it.

Thanks.
Not a close up I am afraid, but you can see mine mounted alongside a camera detector in place of the rear view mirror.
