Out of interest, what was your speed? Not sure whether it looks faster than it is but it does look like you were pedalling hard.

He's doing at least 90 - 100 there. I refuse to believe that is anywhere near 70 ish.

I was bored.

Video taken here

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/51.9876168,-0.79...

From the NSL sign at 0.02 to the NSL sign at 0.08 it is about 260m. Took him 6 seconds to cover that which comes down to him doing 98 mph.....

I've had a dashcam for about a month.
I would post examples of the poor / terrible / atrocious driving I see on a daily basis but
A) I haven't hooked up the camera to my mac yet
B) I've realised I swear a lot when I'm driving, usually at people who've done the terrible driving

When I've worked out A and stopped B I'll post examples.

Bloody kids. Can't wait till I see him.
Little sts! However how does the dash cam work when you're stationary and not in the car. Looks brilliant.

I'd really like to buy a dash cam for my car. I live in Spain and people are notorious for bumping your car and driving off. Luckily no damage yet but having spent the best part of a small fortune on my car, I'd like to keep it in perfect condition and this would be great to claim back from tossers who don't give a st around here. My last car has a bumper crack thanks to a tosser in Morrisons car park in Gibraltar.

Which camera do you have and is it very small? I really don't want a large block sat on my windscreen. I really want something completely discreet that I never see and it just works the moment I get in the car and also records while I'm not in the car too.

Cheers!

This is a very interesting thread! Never knew it existed!

LarJammer was going far too quick on the road and was easily over 90 as already mentioned. There are times and places for these things but not in a busy dual-carriageway. You're just asking for trouble.

I had a Blackvue that only recorded whilst it had power (ignition on) - you could get a 'hardwire' kit for it but it's a fath and needs circuitry to prevent flattening your battery if left for a few days.

I've now got a Mini 0806 which (as well as a proper hardwire kit), also has a 'parking guard' mode which just runs off the built-in battery and records a few seconds when it detects shock/movement - it takes a couple of seconds to boot up and start recording so if it's a drive by it might not completely catch video proof but it's better than nothing.

In the case of the scrotes above, it would have probably recorded him walking away after knocking the car...

nice to know everyone is on my side! my speed may have crept up from nsl but wasnt as high as some have quoted...
i was just trying to be polite and give the other driver room to pull onto the main road.

Not excusing the poor driving on the part of the Astra but it may have been a non-event had you arrived at the scene slower. The Astra may also have not been expecting you to arrive as quickly as you did either.

Good anticipation on the lane change to make room for him but better would have been to arrive slower and expect idiocy on his or her part!

It was fking idiotic of the joining driver to pull straight into the outside lane imo. Proper retard move.

I'm running the Dome G90 A7. I've got it wired in with a blackvue powermagic pro to protect my battery however if you're using your car every day I can't see you coming back to a flat battery anyway. I've got motion detection turned on for when I'm not in the car. You can also turn on the G-force detection in case anyone hits your car.

My model isn't the smallest of cameras however I purchased it for the great night capability. I'm recording at over 1080p video resolution but youtube downscales it unfortunately.

I think he's learnt from the current cadburys cake roll advert. If only I could find out who his parents are, and that's assuming they'd care....
