Who did you end up buying yours from? Did you also purchase any of the accessories (holder/leads etc)?
Ordered from Banggood and their UK warehouse, using the NewUK discount code which Klippie mentioned (thanks!). Mobius was 42.80 delivered on its own, but also went with the adhesive windscreen mount which was about 4 quid.

Rest of the stuff was sourced mainly via eBay.. 3m charge cable, add a fuse mini blade wiring kit, 12v to 5v transformer. These are for hardwiring the mobius into the car on switched live. Also grabbed a USB mini otg cable to tweak the settings directly via my android phone and an app.

If anyone read my post regarding the GPS interference I reported the other day, it seems it's only an issue when I have the Mobius directly above where the GPS antenna is mounted. Now that the windscreen mount has arrived, I mounted the mobius behind the rear view mirror and the GPS issues were gone. Fingers crossed it stays that way, as it's a decent bit of kit for the money!

hi Dashcam thread - i posted this and was directed here to get your expertise - . Our Car has a "Pure" DAB radio with a Windscreen mounted antenna. We were previously given a " streetwise " ( i think it was from argos) dashcam, but it interfered with the radio so we gave it back. other devices that mount to the screen don't do this ( sat navs etc). My wife and i are looking at getting another cheapish dashcam so wondered if anyone on PH had any experience or recommendations for a dashcam that wont render the DAB useless?

thanks in advance!

I have no experience with it, but it might be worth researching peoples' experiences with the Transcend Drive Pro 200. I suspect this will fare better than the cheap chinese stuff for RF interference and they are quite well reviewed but don't cost a fortune.

will definately look at that one - looks pretty good at a glance. probably towards the higher end of my price range though.

am struggling to find much on what will and wont interfere tho - not many people seem to add DAB to their cars and most factory ones seem to use an external antenna so are pretty much immune from the problem.

Having a little problem with my Mini 0803.

I have it hardwired into the car and when i turn the ignition on it comes on and records, but sometimes it will record for a few seconds and then stop, screen still active. If i press the record button 3 red words appear on the screen for a very brief moment, not long enough to actually read them!

If i turn the camera off and back on again it seems to record fine.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a similar problem I had with my 0801, to solve it I had to give it a bit less to do! I.e. I used the menus to reduce the picture quality (bits) by one notch, and turned off the sound recording. It's worked fine since.

The market for car cams is slowly maturing. There are of course the 1001 Chinese cams and the slighty better quality Korean ones. But now we have more mainstream names joining in which will hopefully lead to better internal batteries and less flaky software. Some brands wed out their names to flaky Chinese manufacturers but now we have better Garmins, Mios and even Lenovo have joined the throng.

If the build quality of my Lenovo laptop is anything to judge by then I'll take my chances with the cheapo Chinese no-name cams.

Just got to work this morning after being hit by another car.
Driver gets out and says....."It's all on camera, mate.........It's all on camera mate.......It's all on camera, mate....."

Thankfully, it was.....it will show him pulling out of a side junction into my passenger front door.

Great innovation these dashcams but unfortunately they can still be bought and used by idiots.

Techmoan has reviewed some Philips ones - http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2015/9/12/philips-das...

Night quality on the ADR610 looks meh and the clip jumping on the ADR810 isn't great and the blue button looks annoying.

I was going to pull the trigger on a K1S but I'm planning to change cars soon so might as well wait for now.

someone previously had linked to this one stating it is good and has sorted out some problems where dash camera's were not getting enough power: (I assume this is the part you require?)

Can anyone help...there is a lot of noise when playing back my videos, like interference/crackling. Done it for a while and I have recently started using a different lead which hasn't helped.
If it's only started doing this since you changed the cable then you might need a better shielded cable, incidentally, what brand of dash cam are you using?
Mobius.
It did it with both cables. The first came with the camera, the second is from Joovuu. I originally had the short cable running straight down from the camera to the socket (not pretty!) so thought the movement of the cable was causing it, however having now run a longer cable and hidden it, it's still doing it.
Have you tried manually recording just using the battery in the Mobius without connecting the cable/adapter to the cigarette lighter, if it's still buzzing then you might have a faulty camera. How long have you owned it?
I have a Mobius as well, and get exactly the same rattling noise. Having taken it apart, I'm wondering if it's the buttons rattling in the case?

Have you tried a different USB charger (assuming you're using one)? That's what worked for me.

Hi mate the exact same thing happened with my Mobius and it was the cigarette lighter charger I was using. Swapped it for one of these:

and plugged it into the 1.0A port, no more buzzing. Before I did it, it sounded like this, is this what you're getting?

Tried a couple actually - although I intend to hard wire it when I get a chance.

I'm a bit new to this dash cam malarkey so have been doing a bit of research and reading this thread. My O/H had a very intimidating driver cutting her up recently, so I thought we should consider investing in a couple of dash cams in the cars without spending a fortune.

The Mobius seems to get good press on here, and looking at Banggood as mentioned by Klippie (thanks!) with the discount code I can pick up the whole lot I need (minus the SD card) for about £58, or I could just get the Mobius from there and the the other bits from Amazon/eBay. Some of the stuff looks like it comes from the EU and some from China (e.g. Capacitor), so presume this will take longer.

The bits I think I need for in-car fitting are:

Mobius Camera with C2 wide angle lens
Suction mount holder
3m charging cable
Super capacitor
USB car adaptor 12V-5V
SD Card - either 32gb or 64gb

So with a 32GB SD card the whole lot should be under £70.

The alternative is something like the Transcend DrivePro 200 which has everything in one box with a 2 year guarantee and is probably more wife friendly. It also has a screen and wifi with phone app, though I'm guessing that's a bit of a gimmick. It can be had on Amazon for £85 with a 16GB SD card, though if I bought the suction mount and a 32GB card it would be around £100.

I suppose my question is, is it worth paying a little extra for the Transcend, or will the Mobius be just as good and cheaper?

I have the DP200 in my company car and the other half has a DP220 in her car. There's no need to buy the suction mount unless you intend to move them between cars regularly.

Mine hasn't moved from the windscreen of my car in 18 months and has been faultless, rain, sun and at night. I don't think the screen is a gimmick as it makes setting up the camera angle very straight forward and gives piece of mind that it's actually recording rather than just a flashing light.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another DrivePro, although I guess its downside is the size of the thing but ours are positioned behind the rear view mirror so never get in the way.

Cheers for the reply. I've currently got 2 cars, so would like the option of moving it if possible hence the suction mount. I meant the wifi/app was a gimmick, rather than the screen which I agree would be useful.

The size of the DP200 was another concern though , as the Mobius is smaller and may be more discreet.

What is the general view on leaving dash cams permanently fitted, are they a magnet for undesirables like Satnav's are/were, as having to add/remove it every day makes remembering to use it a little more inconvenient?

I have used the wifi to take footage off the camera but it's a lot quicker by using a cable or taking the card out. I guess if you do a lot of miles and are likely to overwrite the footage while out then it's handy to take off the clip you need to your phone or ipad knowing that it's safe. I get over 2 hours of looped footage on my 32gb card but have just bought a 64gb to replace it with.

My company car is 22 months old, has done 64,000 miles and the camera hasn't attracted any unwanted attention and the car is left all over the place, in hotels, town centres etc.
