Anyone seen any deals on the Transcend DP220 lately? Looking to replace my 0801. Looks like they were reduced for Black Friday/Christmas sales but back to full price now.
I've not and luckily I bought one on Black Friday to replace my DP200. Set up a notification using http://uk.camelcamelcamel.comAlex L said:

Ordered a G1W DVR in the end. Paid a few quid more at carcamerashop but figured it would be worth it to avoid ebay fakes and have some backup
its good to support local businesses in the high street.Any K1S users on here? What's it been like? Worth the cash?
Someone damaged my rear bumper in a shared car park at work a few weeks ago and buggered off. Switching cars soon and a dash cam is on my shopping list. I looked into the K1S before but decided to wait until I changed cars. Annoyingly the repair costs will be around the same as a K1S would have been!

If the mini SD card you are using is 32GB in size or less then you can format it in the camera before use, if larger than 32GB then format it FAT32 using Disk Utility in any Apple Mac desktop or laptop computer, if you don't have a Mac then find someone that does because it's a lot less hassle than trying to format using Windows!
Actually it's very easy:- Hit the Windows/Start Button -> type cmd.exe in the search box -> press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to get an Administrator Command Line. If prompted, press Yes or enter administrative credentials in the UAC pop-up box.
- At the command line prompt, enter: format <drive letter>: /FS:FAT32

Any Thinkware F750 owners on here? Looks like it's a better all round dual camera setup compared to both the K1S and the Blackvue DR650. Price seems alright to at £250 which includes the hardwire cable.
Yes and very impressed. Front camera is a little larger than some, but I can't fault its image quality. Parking mode is very flexible and can be timed or set to cut off at a certain battery voltage.

How can that work with WiFi, away from an internet connection?
(b)..I understand it's powered by the car battery. The same review says operation whilst parked only activates the camera on impact. Won't it run continuously?

As these things are getting more popular they should put a recess in the rear of interior mirrors, then all the manufacturers could make dashcam units the same size to fit. Anyhow I fitted the camera the normal way this afternoon, looks ok.
At the very least an ignition switched micro usb socket on the back of the rear view mirror would be very useful. Can this record 24/7 even when parked at night?

I've just changed my battery for the higher capacity version from the diesel, and my F750 in parking mode is running for approximately 8hrs before it hits the 12.3v limit. Cut-off voltage and operating time is programmable in the settings. The F750 records front and back and is very sensitive to motion, it actually works very well at capturing any movement outside the car.
You can see from my icy pics above that it's working hard overnight.
