I doubt it unless it was hardwired in, even then I would question the quality on a device that cheap (and generic)

That's the one, £20 in Halfords for the same thing. Has 2 different piggyback leads with plug in connection rather than crimp.

Very annoyed. Thankfully i never bought that as on the way home last night the cable fell out of the wee holder thing that sticks to the screen and the camera slides into. When it did it brought the inside of the usb socket with it. Rendering it broken!

I'll see if i can buy that bit alone, failing that i'm in the market for a new cam.

So looks like my 0801 is gubbed.

Just a solid red light, nothing even when power through the base or direct to the camera.

Anyone seen this before? Off for a proper nose through this thread to find a replacement

Yes they do this after about 3 to 4 years, it usually means the battery is dead.

There is a guide (somewhere) on how to get it apart, but to be honest it's easier to buy another 0801.

Yeah, i had thought i'll judt do the same. Annoying when i just bought a new bloody base for it.

So I've got an E-Prance G1W in my basket at Amazon for the family car and I'm just umming and ahhing as to whether or not it's the right thing to go for. I've selected the version with the 32GB micro SD included - £49.99 delivered.

Am I correct in thinking that if I take the micro USB > 12V car socket (assuming this is the cable you receive) I could hook it up to it's own 12V ignition live behind the dashboard and that's it - job done? I've wired more complicated things in my yoof - Amplifiers and remote central locking etc. but just want to make sure I'm not barking up the wrong tree.

Any advice or alternative camera recommendations very welcome!

In case you didn't notice, that deal does not include the rear camera.

Also, they're releasing a new version, the F770 (I think) now.

I got one for Christmas. One thing I would say is the screen stays on and I've not found a way to get it to turn off. I got used to it being on very quickly but I think I would have preferred if it dimmed after a few minutes.

I looked at this as well. In the end went for the Transend 220 which turns off the screen after 1 min - Pleased with the results so far. easy to install.

Just had an 0806 delivered today to replace my (still working, but huge) Blackvue DG550.

Main reason was because you can keep it wired up, and just unclip the camera itself when you're parked up.

The overall build quality is clearly lower than the Blackvue, but the video quality seems good and it's nice to have a screen.

Not sure if this is the best thread to ask the question, but I've had a problem with my Mobius recently.

I swapped the battery out for the capacitor, and it seems that when I power off the car, the current recording is not saved. As the recording lengths are 5 minutes, this means that up to the last 5 minutes of my journey isn't recorded. Also it sometimes seems to happen to the first recording as well.

There is no gaps in the numbering of the filenames, so they go up sequentially.

I'm tempted to just put the battery back in, but understood the capacitor should be better for a permanently wired solution.

Anyone had a similar issue?

I've also had similar patchy saving symptoms when I had problems with some SD cards experiencing read/write errors after a period of time. These were branded sandisk and kingston cards from proper suppliers (supplied and fulfilled by Amazon, MyMemory and high street retailers) not dodgy ebay examples, so just bad luck I guess.

Thanks. You know I was convinced I had changed the power-off to immediate, but just checked it again and it is still set to 30 seconds so I don't think the sysconfig file had loaded properly. I've done it again and will see if that works now.

I've also had issues with cards as well. Had a Kinston 32gb from Amazon that had stopped working, but the recording light was still flashing and I didn't realise until more than a week later when I checked the recordings. I have a new one in now that seems ok, but a bit concerning if it can stop recording and you don't realise until the day you need it.
