Well my 0803 or 0801 or whatever it is has been used for about 6 hours in total and the menu button using the "up" switch no longer works to access the menu. It switches the microphone on and off so functions, but wont let me access the menu to set functions or the date/time.

Unimpressed. Shame as it records clearly.
Is the video recording when trying to access the menu?
If it is, it will only turn the mic on or off.
in the top right, it will have a red pulsating circle if it's recording, if it is, press "OK" once to stop recording, then try.

Yes, it's a shocker. Since posting this video I must have been contacted by 15 people who range from friends to colleagues to complete randoms all asking where I got the camera and who can fit one locally in Aberdeen so clearly there is a fear of this type of situation ocurring.

Actually, the Blackvue doesn't stop recording like that. On sensing an incident mine is set to continue for 3 mins even if the inginition is switched off. One of the Blackvue's features is that it's on a permanent live so if the car is hit while parked, the camera remembers the last 30 secs and then records for a further 3 mins.
Interesting as I use Blackvue's as well, will have to check for that feature in the settings. Another alternative is one of these power managers, which are useful for the parking feature, although I don't like the battery being drained even if it does cut off.

Thanks for the compliment on the Aston, took a long while to find one with the spec and colour.

Hope it all works out ok in the end for you.

Just a thought though , I would worry a little bit about leaving the engine running if you get out of the car though , you could find that it was done do get their hands on your car and keys. On my cheapo dash cam you can change the settings for it to run off battery power for a while which might help.

Good Luck !
Good point, I'm looking at a few new cameras at the moment will have to consider one with a battery.

Afternoon all,

Apologies in advance for this post, I'm going to ask the question I suspect has been asked many times before and may well 'boil the pi**' of some on here.......

......is there a 'best' camera to purchase and what should I look for? Ideally I want one which isn't too obvious in the car (presume like satnavs they're a theft risk?) and can be hard wired (difficult to do?). Plus can you get one which you can easily remove (like a satnav) and put into another car with the bracket/hard wires already installed?

Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers.

BTW I've dipped in & out of the post for a while & am still none the wiser!

Update from our insurers. They're backing us. Claim has been filed against the Fiat driver with the video as supporting evidence.

By no means a done deal but pleasing to see that our insurers are willing to take the stance that my wife was not to blame.

Lets see what the other side have to say about it.

Did any witnesses stop at that bump with the Fiat?

Interesting that you ask that. No, not one person stopped. My wife works with the driver of the Polo that passed on the left immediately after and she did witness the accident but nearly had one herself into the back of my wife's car so was a little flustered and continued on her way. She did text about 15 mins later once home to check everything was ok.

I suppose from behind the view of the incident isn't great. Maybe others coming the other way weren't concentrating on what was happening around them.

What a weird thing to do so long after the original incident! confused

They've either been sat there seething and were planning it for a while, or it took them a long time to engage brain and start up. Nobhead, hope they get what's coming to them

im very surprised at that.

yes they were being a tit but I always thought it didn't matter the person at the back should leave enough room to stop.
Only way that would change is if the car in front forced its way in front not leaving enough room to stop.

interested to see how this goes.

check out
http://www.techmoan.com/
and
https://joovuu.com/gb/
basicly there are a few options.. Techmoan has loads of good video reviews.
Mobius is small, easy to wire in and as easy or as difficult to remove as you wish.
I got a exnension cable (20cm) between the camera bos and the (wide angle) lens, so i can remote mount the lens behind the rear view mirror whilst the box is tucked up on the headlining out of sight. total was about 60UKP.

I bought two DR32s when they were flavour of the month and I have been (up until now) well pleased with them.

The one I always use in the rear of the car lost its focus / resolution a while ago but I kidded myself that this was due to dirty rear screen, sun glare etc.

However, overnight (literally) the front one has gone from acceptably sharp to absolute crap in the focus / resolution department. To the extent that reading a number plate is virtually impossible.

I have found on the internet instructions on how to take the camera apart and adjust the focus. So all should be well when I obtain a round tuit. BUT . . what actually causes this loss of focus / resolution?

Has anyone else had the same problem? I guess they have, what with instructions being available on the internet and my 100% failure rate (with an admittedly small sample!!).
i reckon it could have been caused by the recent heat we had
So, it's cooked as well as fooked?

You could well be right . . . !

I've not seen much in the last few months and 10k miles.

Just some minor things.

A driver deciding she was better than everyone else and could use the hard shoulder as a free lane. Note she had stopped later on in the video, her children had probably dropped their benefits all over the back seat.

On Friday I found this scruffy looking learner in my way. His passenger looked like a nearly dead old man.

Then last night I saw this. Watch the girl in the doorway of the taxi place. She leans against an invisible wall biggrin Drunk at 6.50pm

Finally got Mobius back and front, back one took a long time to get round to doing but have been able to run both off the same 5v converter, both with 64GB cards and the video quality is tip top.

My GoPro is now entirely redundant tbh.

I'm doing something similar

Hard wired a lidl cigarette lighter adapter that has inbuilt USB supply, hidden it under the dash then run some long cables so it's hidden

Möbius at front and rear, can't really see them unless you know they are there
