I picked up an 0803 in December and have only had a minor issue, the flashing red light is going mental but easily ignored. Other then that all is fine and i've not had to touch it since installed.
Sometimes when recording the light on mine flashed blue the rapid red. I read somewhere that it's having a problem with the card when it's reaching capacity. It results on lost video for a period of time.Funk said:
Nope, that just means it's charging the internal battery. You should notice that after a short while it just goes to flashing blue only (battery charged).
Ah, i stand corrected.I said that as i have noticed on Registrator Viewer a little exclamation mark and on the timeline there is an area highlighted yellow that has missed a bit of the recording.
The day before i installed my cam i seen three incidents that would have been of such significance to show as something i recorded. Now i've installed it i've seen nothing!

Without reading all of these pages is there a solution for my son?
He parks his car near school and some clowns recently have been mucking around with the cars. Relatively innocent stuff so far but of course no one ever sees them.
Is there a cheap motion activated dash cam he could simply rest of the dashboard when he is parked there?
The 0801 would certainly do the job if hard wired in and set to 'Motion Detect', alternatively buy a Mobius which has a proper battery lasting for approx two hours, set it on motion detect. You can attach an external power pack for longer life if you don't want to hard-wire it in.He parks his car near school and some clowns recently have been mucking around with the cars. Here's the Techmoan video review on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wmIyD1fM4M
The Mobius can be purchased via: https://www.joovuu.com/gb/42-mobius-cameras and is available with a standard or wide-angle lens, and has loads of add-ons for using in various situations such as biking, surfing, skiing, as well as a car dash cam, etc.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Got an 0801 and finding the GPS logging to be poor. It only logs about 5% of the time. Any ideas?
I have the wire plugged into the GPS unit...Should it be the Camera?
Thanks

Into the Gps unit. Mine is spot on. Have you got a heated screen and does it have a clear view of the sky?Got an 0801 and finding the GPS logging to be poor. It only logs about 5% of the time. Any ideas?

Just dropped back in to say 6 months down the line my 0801 is still working fine, but for some reason has reset the date and time on it's own.
Only realised today when this tewat decided you now don't need to give way to the right on roundabouts.
If you're using the cigarette lighter to power the 0801 then I think the time and date are resetting because the internal battery is dead and the time and date information is lost on shut-down, this may also affect the saving of the last file because the camera won't be shutting down properly. How you replace the dud battery is something that I don't know! Only realised today when this tewat decided you now don't need to give way to the right on roundabouts.
I think this is the reason why the Mobius camera has the option of replacing the internal battery with a super capacitor if used as a dash cam and when powered from the cigarette lighter or hard-wired - as far as I'm aware there is insufficient space in the 0801 to fit a super capacitor in place of the battery.

It should shut down cleanly. Mine comes on and off with the ignition using the 12v socket. Does that not make them completely redundant after 6 months, after all if I have a crash the last file will be the one I want to save?I think this is the reason why the Mobius camera has the option of replacing the internal battery with a super capacitor if used as a dash cam and when powered from the cigarette lighter or hard-wired - as far as I'm aware there is insufficient space in the 0801 to fit a super capacitor in place of the battery.

Thanks rich, yes I do use the cig lighter to power it, but assumed that with the camera off the battery would have enough power to retain the settings for 24 hrs or so, I did leave the car for 10 days recently when we went on holiday si I guess this would have depleted the battery.I think this is the reason why the Mobius camera has the option of replacing the internal battery with a super capacitor if used as a dash cam and when powered from the cigarette lighter or hard-wired - as far as I'm aware there is insufficient space in the 0801 to fit a super capacitor in place of the battery.

Got myself an 0801 and really impressed with it. One minor issue is i'm getting some reflection of my dashboard, any tips to reduce this?
On other cameras a polarising filter is used to get rid of reflections like that, I'm not sure if that camera has one as an accessory though. My (different) camera does that occasionally on bright days but I just live with it, I can still see everything so it doesn't bother me too much.rustandoil said:

A bit pricey when compared to the 801/805/806 etc. but probably worth it.
This looks like the dashcam i have been waiting for, just need a UK seller and a bit better price.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lt7lhKSwWcI

The Amazon links on Techmoan's site now point you to a seller willing to ship to the UK, unlike before. Mine's due in a couple of weeks, my first foray into dashcam land - I was waiting for a separate camera & recorder system like this, and TM's review seems to rate it.
I've just ordered one myself. Fingers crossed it's as good as TM says it is!GuinnessMK said:

Evening all.
I've got an 0805 dash cam and need a longer cable to plug in to my cigarette power.
Can someone point me in the right direction, that's if they make a extention cable?
Many thanks
