If anyone wants a 'cheap' MKIV 2L GTi, there is one thats been sat at work for a year. tis an '03' in black with full leather.L100NYY said:
Love to hate it.Utterly, utterly dreadful 'steer', but quite a fabulous slogger. For some reason the 150 feels like a much more refined car above 90mph than the 130 ever did.
Mine's got all the toys too, including cruise, climate, leather, bum warmers and six disc changer. Which helps a lot.
It's really all the car any man could ever need.

We had a Golf 5 130derv with all the toys when someone kindly rammed Helen's Astra off the road a few years back. She wanted on badly after that.
They're great really. Ignoring the 'sporty' pretensions entirely, the more potent TDIs are the pick of the MKIV range. 2.0 and 1.8T GTIs are a waste of time.
Although, curiously, mine is also badged 'GTI' and it's not a naff retrofit either.

I'd have a 2.8 4Motion with all the toys in MkIV flavour. Even though it'd be epically st.
Horrible fuel economy though for very little in terms of forward propulsion. Part of the MKIV TDI raison d'etre is the ability to whisk along at a decent lick, whilst actually using zero fuel.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
