I've just taken a deposit on my car so really now time to actually find something. Although the week or so till it gets collected doesn't put too much pressure.

Favourites thus far have been Box S, C32 AMG, X350 XJR, 645 but a Clio 197 could be worth a try.

Crikey, these seem ridunkulously good value these days. That's what I paid for my 172 years ago!

I love the look of these, and no doubt they deliver on the road, but after sitting in one, i couldn't put up with the inside of it.

- stupid tiny indicator stalks
- stupid open door indicator graphic with comedic balloon tyres
- stupid flimsy heater controls
- stupid crappy satnav afterthought
- stupid indicator noise

I now think about those things when I see any Clio on the road.
Apart from that a very desirable.

Stupid dials that are tilted too much towards the roof.

Mine's still for sale after several months - although I've been incredibly passive about marketing it! Although mine's an '08 plate on 45k, with Recaros and Cup chassis.

There seems to be plenty of 197s in the £5-7k range, and plenty of 182s and 172 cups in the £1500-3k range.

Then there are things like this that seem to be designed to make me poor

From left to right: my steed, an unknown and a workmate's.

Probably the 3 rarest and poweful cars in t'works car park.

Does your M5 have sat nav and tree trim ? if so i know of one of the previous owners. The reg plate definitely rings a bell.

Even the B3?

The other 2, yes.

That's a 4200 by the way, not sure if there are any anorak things visible to identify it otherwise.

Absolutely, not out of choice though, it's a works car. My Clio rant is a little tongue in cheek, please don't take it personally. Zafira interior is still a nicer place to be smile

£650.

Worth that simply to look at it.

If it moves at all it should be considered a bonus.

Bonkers.

Had 4:3 screen with Nav. Now got 16:9.

No timber though, brushed metal effect.

Don't think it's had a trim change, got Silverstone seat and door inserts if that helps identify it too.

I'm more than happy to criticise the Clio, but imo the interior is actually pretty darn good. Yes there are flaky bits, but on the whole, much of it is better than I've experienced in supposedly more upmarket makes. I like the indicators as well - thought they were odd at first but actually they're just the right size to be in perfect reach from the wheel.
