What car is it?
The blue WRX posted earlier. smile

ETA beaten to it. And is that a Conservative Party floor mat in the passenger footwell? Is one supposed to wipe one's muddy boots on it?

Chaps.
Booked to see this wee thing on Sunday.
15 stamps, 14 of which are Subaru main dealer, 2 cambelts done (50k and 100k)
No modifications at all bar the Prodrive kit raising BHP to 265 (unless anyone knows any different?)
Ticks my boxes in terms of 4x4, good for bikes/shopping/tip etc.
My only problem is the colour/bugeye/stigma.

Almost identical, including the Prodrive kit (and 265 is correct), to one we had and still miss. Ours also had heated leather and a sunroof. Check timing belt history (change every 60k), aux belts for fraying and pulleys for damage (there is a plastic pulley tensioner near the top that can disintegrate and eat the water pump, power steering and altternator belt).

Check panel straightness and colour for previous damage and abuse, check brakes for a dead straight hard pull up (it's rapid pace means it gets through discs and pads)and then normal checks for all the toys working.

Yes it's cheap plastics but they are wipe clean/ low maintenance and tbh once that flat four starts thrumming you realise it's not a car to sit in and admire the view, it's a car to get out in and race through the views.

Bad news, theres no proof it's been serviced since 2005 until the dealer did it earlier this year.
The aftermarket head unit is bad news too - the OBC is integrated with the stereo...

Many thanks. Good car then?
Never had a Subaru, so no idea what to expect.
Parts reasonable prices etc?

Non-turbo Bentley. Scale of oomph disappointment?

Bloody lovely thing otherwise.

PPP pack is nearer 250bhp on these in reality, watch for piston slap, knocking big ends, and gearbox.. otherwise prety good cars

I was pondering one of these the other day, in late, non-Turbo form the ecomonmy must be above 20mpg on a run with all that new fangled injection guff. Surely?

Not sure its worth £1500 but it reminds me of the sub £1k 1.6 Azure I saw this week and instantly wondered how hard an engine swap would be.

Blimey. Two and a half bags or playing at McRae winter fun.

One assumes the fuel consumption is apocalyptic? (Sp?)

Has been standing for 25 years. No reserve. In terms of what could possibly go wrong... the carburettor is probably the most complicated part of the entire car?!

Questionable Blingness v. Cheapness?

Ouch!

That kind of weight, spinning through the air, can't have been a good experience for anyone involved frown

Needs a colour change. Very cheap for what it is.
