So, is your car fast?
Discussion
Yes, it's definitely fast enough, my Audi A8 4.2 Quattro. I'm usually a turbo lover but the V8 engine is ideal for punch at any speeds. It has far more grunt than is really needed in the UK, but it's also usefully quick below that as it has bags of grip from the AWD system.
Is it as fast as say, my old MR2 Turbo? No, not that fast. But it's still pretty damn quick, especially one up, and it keeps pulling where my old turbo cars were running out of breath.

Weekend runabout / current track car fast enough ~200bhp/tonne. Proper track car 360bhp/tonne, thats fast. Daily rider 370bhp/tonne thats fast, weekend rider 685bhp/tonne - thats proper quick

Define "fast" i.e acceleration, 0-60 etc.etc. I have a Ford Mondeo Estate. I had it at max Leptons at J8,M25 when I met an unmarked Audi; should have known better being in Bandit country but yes,at that time my Dad taxi was "fast!!!" BTW he was an basolut gent by giving me his best glare then going after the mid-lane hoggers!! Phew!
That's kind of the point. Any self respecting petrolhead can work out, on paper, which of two cars should faster in a specific arena. I'm talking more about if you feel as though its fast.It depends on what kind of stuff you've driven before, I suppose. To me, my Focus RS is quick (a 300bhp hot hatch couldn't ever really be considered anything less I don't think!), but it's not 'fast'. When I took a 12-year-old family friend out in it, though, he was utterly gobsmacked by its performance. His parents have a diesel Skôda Superb, so that's all he knew! When I went out in a 997.2 Turbo, I had the same reaction.
