330d 230bhp is it fast? No.
It's adequate it's certainly quicker than lots of other cars.

I'd say in a road car 300bhp/tonne is about as much as what is usable on the queens highway and there are plenty of stunning cars in this bracket.

Not really, no. But I'm a bus driver so it feels quick after driving a bus!

Jaguar XJ8 3.2 Sport - I would say powerful more than fast. From a standstill it's 'ok' but it pulls pretty hard after about 30mph and just keeps going.

Peugeot 106 1.1 59bhp - umm, no (I remember reading a review that said something along the lines as "about as sporty as Lisa Riley") 12.4 seconds 0 to 62, 101 mph (maybe)

Renault laguna mk3 2.0 DCI 150bhp - not really, torquey feeling, but not that fast. 9.5 sec 0 to 62 (which when you think about it, the 106 is "only" 3 seconds slower despite being 91bhp down on the renault with 2.5 times the power) 131mph

I'd consider both of my Alpinas to be reasonably fast.

Most passengers are easily terrified when pressing on so it depends how you use it, I guess.
Never judge performance on a passengers' reactions. They scare/shout/get sick far too easily biggrin
Tell me about it.

Mrs Mute soils her britches if I take a nice open roundabout at anything above 40mph.

Not really. I drive a 2 litre turbo-diesel estate;). To be fair, it was the most powerful production 2.0l diesel in its day (though not for long;)).

Depends what you're comparing to though. Very slow compared to cars that are meant to be fast but holds its own amongst standard fare.

e46 320d No not fast, but fast enough. And sadly the fastest car I've owned. getmecoat

If anything I've got comments that passengers didn't realize how fast they were going till they looked at the speedo.

Honda Stepwagon - 84bhp/tonne. Not fast, but nippy enough for the type of vehicle.

Celica GT-Four - 208bhp/tonne. Reasonably quick, but the turbo does run out of puff pretty quickly.

E60 M5 - 267bhp/tonne. Frighteningly quick, and it just keeps pulling all the way to red-line.

To me yes, and compared to most other cars on the road actually.

All my other friends are going around in 1 - 1.2L hatchbacks, so they think it's quick too.

220bhp Saab 9-3. Coming from a 55hp Fiesta, the acceleration and pull through the gears seems positively mad!!

140bhp diesel Volvo - surprisingly good all things considered

250bhp Cavalier Turbo - as above, could even be deemed 'quick' by today's standards!

But either of them 'fast'... nope, not a hope in hell but then again it's all relative.

Nope, my definition of fast was redefined after a passenger ride in a Hayabusa Westfield which in the grand scheme of things is probably only on the nippy side.

My old T5 Volvo was quite brisk though, punched well above its weight
