Ah a Cosworth cloud9 . Is there anything it can't make kickass?

smile My favourite engine by far smile its such a versatile engine that fits so well and looks awesome in whatever its in. Even in an RX7. Remember Redline magazine a good few years ago featured one. Blasphemy to some but to me its just making a great car more awesome smile

+1 on that, I remember Project 50 from Redline a few years ago, 400bhp Cossie powered E36 with a replica GT kit and livery. There was also a mk7 Fiesta that I read about recently that had the entire floorpan of a Sapphire 4x4 cut down to fit the body, with 500bhp or somewhere near.

Then there's MadRod and his top speed Saph, over a 1000bhp from a 2ltr YB and over 200mph!

Long live the Cossie YB!

Link here to a PHer who's in the process of a 'car' transplant, as against just engine. It's one of the best readers rides on PH, well worth a read http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Not usually my thing, but that is very very nice. Very understated and well proportioned.

Bike engined X1/9 is pretty rapid! Probably one of the only cars here that can drive/corner better post-swap too.

What was that Lexus v8 engined Omega I saw in Evo a few years back?
Not that mental. Opel got as far as doing Autobahn testing on a V8 Omega but they couldn't keep it cool enough on long runs for production.
Nah, there was some swedish(?) chap who'd tuned something up to 1000bhp and whapped it in the front of Vauxhalls executive barge. They tried to vmax it on some ring or other, but unremembered mechanical failure may have put paid to it.

Will try to dig the issue out in the absence of someone with an infallible memory.
diff oil temp at high speed was the issue

Posting on iPhone here and I can't be bothered trying to post pictures but...

We built an LS1 Omega where I used to work, it was so incredibly easy to get the engine in and mounted.

We also had a customer who had a 106 with an RS Turbo engine in the back.

Before I started there was a customer with an Aston V12 in a Jag XJS.

Will try to post pics of the omega when I'm not at work.

I've also seen a W12 VW Fridolin but can't find the link now
