That engine is actually the Nissan SR20DET, probably from a 180SX or Silvia. Looks like a big turbo so probably 400hp+.

Not that mental. Opel got as far as doing Autobahn testing on a V8 Omega but they couldn't keep it cool enough on long runs for production.

Nah, there was some swedish(?) chap who'd tuned something up to 1000bhp and whapped it in the front of Vauxhalls executive barge. They tried to vmax it on some ring or other, but unremembered mechanical failure may have put paid to it.

Will try to dig the issue out in the absence of someone with an infallible memory.

Still cheating, but you cant let a thread like this go without the mention of the supervans, and that xj220 one.

Here's the thing I was thinking of. In German, unfortunately. They say that the flex-plate on the gearbox couldn't take the autobahn speeds.

I might have found a winner on the lunacy stakes, but I dont speak croation so I am struggling to find much info.

Click on the picture to see a video of an old nova with what is reported as a highly tuned RS4 engine in the back.

Unsuprisingly it ended up looking like this...

It's not quite on the same level as some of the mental stuff contained in this thread, but around a year ago I was reading a forum where there was a bloke attempting to mate an RX8 with a VW Derby body, by chopping off the entire body of the RX8 from the sills up, and welding on the Derby body.

If anyone can find the pictures and accompanying thread, please post them so I can see it again!

Liking this thread so here's a kickstart.

As Mr William's previous creation just wasn't enough he built this - 42l V12 Packard Bentley. Top man!
