Honda CBR1000 engine and turbocharged, as well, on a go-kart. Does this count?

Why would you mount the engine around that way?
because a 150bhp kart that only has 6 reverse gears would be slightly more terrifying.

I remember seeing a classic Mini Copper sport with a Cosworth tuned 2.0l turbo engine (like an Escort) which was moundet lengthways and made RWD. Over 300hp in a Mini is just daft

They still didnt do a very good job of packaging it though. If it had an exhaust and intake like our formula student car instead of that tangle of pipes, you could take a foot out of the chassis between the seat and the engine. I'd also be putting a firewall in there too....

27 litres in a Rover! (featured on Fifth Gear)
I stopped reading PPC years and years ago because the content was interesting, but the format and everything else was gash.

Did he ever finish it then? Last I remember reading it, he was building a dyno for it, and planning on turbocharging it because it was only making 400bhp. And it had no windscreen.
I stopped reading it because they never bloody finished anything!

Picked up a copy the other day in a shop for a browse, yep, Hollman's BMW still doesn't work. The other bloke still hasn't finished any of his long standing projects, but has some how bought some more.
Im sure i saw a video online of it being driven, and there are pics on google of it at the 'ring (with a windscreen). Whether that was "finished" I don't know. By the sounds of it, no project car is ever "finished". There is always something else to be added, fixed, modified or improved.

DELETED: Comment made by a member who's account has been deleted.
you'd be surprised, that would be beyond terrible in every way, it'd understeer like an absolutely crazy thing around the corners if you were trying to be 'quick' and probably no faster than a KZ (even in a straight line aceleration run)
a fun project, no doubt, but in any way usable...... absolutely not!

I went to a grasstrack meet about 10 years ago and there was a Mini pickup that was absolutely flying. When we found it in the pits and got a closer look, it had a Vauxhall redtop on bike carbs mounted lengthways in the load bed, hard up against the cab, driving the rear wheels through a Ford manual box, a propshaft about 6" long and a Sierra diff. Running close to 200 bhp but must have weighed no more than 500kg. Amazing thing built by an affable Brummie in a shed. The whole thing put a massive smile on my face.

Brad Gray 3 cars he has are from Hotrod.com
468ci big block with " A combination of a Littlefield 1471 blower and a pair of Precision 68mm turbos has been carefully engineered to complement each other" ... "15-gallon fuel cell with separate systems for fuel and nitrous"

Wonder how long 15 gallon would last!
1965 Chevrolet C-10 ... "355ci small-block employs a pair of Bowers 671 superchargers joined together by turning the bottom case upside down and backwards and refitting the blades, Brad was able to use one belt to drive both.

56 Chevy

This I would class him as a pistonhead nutter with style and big fuel bill!

Surely those engines sticking out of the bonnet like that can't be road legal? Obscured vision and all that!

It looks like he's just building them for maximum height to be honest.

ETA - That "Tantrum" build with the turbocharged marine V8 is one of the most impressive custom builds I've seen.
