it looks like a very bad effort to make a micra look racecar
However its stunningly crappy looks are all part of the fun
Nissan micra + loony = 450Bhp Nissan micra
It was killed at Knockhill I believe, such a shame. I had the pleasure of seeing it run before it's demise and it was hilarious.

Nah, there was some swedish(?) chap who'd tuned something up to 1000bhp and whapped it in the front of Vauxhalls executive barge. They tried to vmax it on some ring or other, but unremembered mechanical failure may have put paid to it.
Will try to dig the issue out in the absence of someone with an infallible memory.

Here's the thing I was thinking of. In German, unfortunately. They say that the flex-plate on the gearbox couldn't take the autobahn speeds.
This is the Evo article about that Omega.
The owner apparently later had an incident at the Nurburgring and deformed it somewhat.

I first encountered it at Crail where it beat my Caterham down the strip by a HUGE margin

I've never been able to find it again, but on the internet I came across an 'almost complete' project X1/9 that somehow had a 500cu.in. shoehorned in. Recall that the rear end had been widened somewhat and it looked rought as hell. Don't know about stongest contender for greatest degree of lunacy, but quite possibly the most inappropriate engine swap I've ever seen.

And no doubt all fully declared to the insurers
It was actually as the engine was worth about 5 times what the car wasFrom retrorides, an Elise 1.8VVC engined, spaceframed Citroen Dyane
I'm not sure if it was this car but many years ago, possibly in Fast Lane magazine, I remember a yellow Lotus engined Dyane. It had a plastic garlic or onion hanging in the windscreen as l low tech g meter, bigger angle = harder cornering, dangling on the glass = rolled it
