The how do you fill up thread got me thinking about the range of my cars. I really don't do many miles, probably about 10,000 per year between 2 cars. Economy isn't a massive issue for me.

My BMW when I fill it up to the top has a range of around 250 miles and my focus around 320 miles, I suppose if I did a lot of miles this would be pretty bad.

What are your ranges? A creme egg for the best and worst wink

Range on the computer after brimming is about 250. More like 170-180 in practice though.

580-620 on the BMW (F11 530d auto) unless it's all town work, then it's nearer 500. Discovery (3.9 V8 auto) probably about 250.

550 if I've been caning it, 700 if I try for economy, usually around the 600-630 mark.

The Healey is about 10 galls at 20mpg, so 200. The every day back and forth to work diesel is about 12.5 galls x 57, so 712.

I was only interested in range but please feel free to add the tank capacity or how much it costs to fill at today's prices.

Its only the car for work and back,(Fiesta 1.4 tdci) but full its range is 540, over the month the tank lasts its more like 510.

O/H drives our Zetec s Fiesta TDCI and that reads about 480 full but rarely sees over 450 and she drives it with more care than i do shall we say.

Mk3 Mondeo 2 litre petrol gives me about 450 miles from a full tank. Goes over 500 when doing long journeys down to Plymouth etc

350 miles at a push. I fill up every 300 miles or so though as it can vary (and the fuel gauge likes to wander across the dial from time to time, so I can't really trust it).

I always thought for a relatively light and small engined car my MX5 returned really poor mpg, they are thirsty little blighters.

This is what was getting at me with the Jag, the range when full (61l I think) is 340 miles, and I've driven it gently to try and persuade the OBC to be a bit friendlier.

The Rover commuter diesel doesnt have an OBC that I know of but I've been doing it off the trip, got to 430 miles before filling up (needle was on the bottom) and got 39 litres into a 50 litre tank, so I think it'd do about 550 if pushed.
