And a good side of 4k with fitting .....
May look at recaro sportster cs's as a cheaper option and have then recovered, but in no rush as the current are well comfortable on longer drives and beats my recaro pole positions for such in my other car.....

All those saying the 1M is lighter and smaller and that the M3 feels big and bloated in comparison, you do realise that the difference is tiny right? The 1M is 70kgs lighter, the exact same width and only 10 inches shorter. It also uses the exact same running gear, in fact the only really major difference is the engine.
I've not taken a 1M for a drive but I'm keen to hear from those who have, where they think all this extra dynamism over the M3 comes from as the bare specs would indicate otherwise.

With respect, you need to drive both back to back to understand how different they feel. Looking at the data on a screen / piece of paper, etc doesn't do anything, you need to drive the thing to understand how good it is.I've not taken a 1M for a drive but I'm keen to hear from those who have, where they think all this extra dynamism over the M3 comes from as the bare specs would indicate otherwise.
As I said before, (after having driven both back to back) the 1M feels more nimble and agile, it turns in more keenly and with the torque advantage it has over the M3, it feels very quick in real world situations. This is especially noticeable, for example, when in traffic on the motorway, the car in front moves over and you put your foot down to feel it spool up and fire off into the distance. In M-Mode, you don't feel the spool, it just goes without any noticeable lag (well mine does but it's remapped).
The M3, which I have huge respect for, has to be worked more in the same situation. I found in order to make similar progress, I'd have to flick a few gears down and floor it. That's all good, but it can make you look a bit of an idiot when you go revving past the car in front. In the 1M, you do it unnoticed....and faster!
Down the country lanes, the M3 felt bigger, less nimble and not as quick. Again, it's all subjective as it's a great car (I'm not knocking it). However on the same road, the 1M turns in more eagerly and powers out more quickly. Sure it's not a small car (again I'm coming from Caterhams, Elises, Exiges, etc) but once you get the feel for it, it inspires confidence to press on.
Of course, most of this post will probably be dismissed by people who have never driven the car and probably never will as there are so few of them. For those that have driven it and don't like it, that's fine because you've got something to base your views on. For everyone else, if you call yourself petrol-heads, get out there and try and drive one
