Noticed how they're pretty much on a par price-wise these days as second hand purchases. So would you go for the more powerful, but older McLaren SLR or the newer and probably more numerous AMG SLS?

SLR - just for the sound of the V8 with the supercharged overlay ears

Can I not have both? The SLR has always looked a little odd to me. A little over the top. The SLS has got the balance just right.

However, the SLR is still insanely cool, so would not want to rule it out.

I have no chance of buying either of course...

SLS, I cannot stand the SLR apart from the noise. Not sure why though.

They might be on par price wise to purchase... but the SLR is going to cost significantly more to run. I'd probably take the SLS as its far more practical day to day anyway.

On the flipside, the SLS is likely to depreciate more than the SLR at this point, which will wipe out several years worth of maintanence costs.

Purely on looks, the SLR just because it looks so wonderfully over-the-top. Haven't driven either so hard to comment from that point of view, but from what I've read, I'd probably prefer the SLS.

The SLS is on my lottery list. cloud9

As a few others have said, I don't like the SLR, but I couldn't tell you why
