So... last month I bought a Passat V5 as I needed a car asap, got a little sick of the lack of power and lack of mpg, I felt if the car was doing mid 20's mpg I might as well buy something with a bit more oomph.

I do love the 5 cylinder noise, and I do miss the shove of a turbo'd car.

So, ebay today... what's this? A Rica mapped 850 T5 with 15 minutes to go... Kept refreshing and refreshing... stuck a max bid in and won the bugger for the sum of £590.

So I've gone and bought a tuned Volvo estate, in orange, for not a lot of coin. Am I in for a massive world of financial pain and ruin, or some 5 pot turbo winter bangernomics fun?

I've never bought a car unseen and on ebay... I've just insured it (surprisingly cheaply) and I go and pick it up tomorrow.

Some confidence inspiring Volvo T5 related would stories would help my nerves! Anyone?

How can you go wrong for £590?

If it expires in a cloud of steam you can part it out and recoup your money. My T5 is about to go over 150K and is doing well. I've had it a year and all I've bought is a heater matrix (£52 on ebay, fitted it myself) and a couple of tyres.

A good buy from my experience, you will be becoming very acquanted with your local petrol station

Nice buy. How wrong can you actually get it at this price?

However, if it is a wrong 'un:

1. Sling it back on Ebay.
2. Retreat and lick wounds.
3. Slag off Volvos on PH.

Apart from the stickerbombing seems fine - in fact I'm pretty sure that car has been featured on another forum thread

I was actually looking at that one myself. They are addictive smile

In fact, I'm kicking myself for not buying one sooner.

They sound even better when you "liberate" the silencers. Here's mine:
